what if you did a fish experiment, if trout feels pain... maybe try to leave a camera in a bucket to see if the trout reposnds to the hook in its mouth without it jerking from the rod tug, Idk an idea

Interesting idea but Im sure you can find studies online conducted by qualified scientists/biologists that have those answers. Im certainly not qualified for that kind of thing 🤘

How do you make the decision whether to cast mini jigs or Spartan Minnows?

I tend to fish more minnows than mini jigs just because I had more success with the minnows as I was learning. Each day when I start in the morning I just pick some white or light colored and sometimes its s minnow and sometimes a mini jig. That said if im stream fishing or at a lake that doesn’t typically have large trout, ill start with a mini jig. Anywhere else Ill just pick one and give it a shot haha

Another awesome video Rob! Thanks again for all the tips you provide. A suggestion for you that I know you won't like. ......... I think you're getting too associated with GSF. I liked your channel better when you were independent. I'm sure GSF treats you well and you like Estevan, but it seems your channel is becoming just a sales promotion for GSF. I hope you understand. I'm not trying to be critical, just trying to let you know... I think it was better before you got associated with GSF. Sorry if I pi$$ed you off. 👍👍

Lol no worries its a fair statement. I started using GSF products long before I was a pro staffer for the company because I found them to be very high quality and they caught me fish. I highlight them in my videos because I believe they are the best thing out there and I have confidence in them. This is simply why I recommend them. If I didn’t believe in them I never would have become a pro staffer nor would I use them. The techniques I show in the videos can work equally well with other baits from other manufacturers. One thing I have learned over the years is that there is not one bait that works consistently better than all the others. Every bait regardless of whos fishing it has days were its unstoppable and days where it wont catch a thing. So as my fishing evolves my content has evolved. This is why im showing much more of the equipment im using and more importantly the technique. The bait itself is really the least important part. That is for the fish to decide on any given day. Hope all that makes sense 🤘
