Can confirm, the 2nd gen cummins is a bear to drive cross country. I travel full time in mine and like to move only a couple hundred miles maximum at a time. Our society is so fast paced we forget to slow down and enjoy the little out of the way places that nobody else goes.

My Idea was to build the whole thing like a roof, not one drop or condensation so far and it has been in several noreasters and a direct hit from what was left of hurricane lee recently. Also it lives about 100 yards from the ocean and It still smells like brand new construction inside!! Thanks for watching!!

Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed! It is a rough old work truck so not a great ride and top speed is about 60. It is a 12v cummins with a 5 speed and a lot of new mechanical parts on the truck so it is very reliable and gets close to 20mpg! I can also tow just about anything I want! I will be doing some summer camping in Maine videos soon.

Internet connection might be an issue 10 on the inside and the outside, I would have outcropped that window all the way to the front on top of the cab of the truck for more head space and a bed on top of the truck but I'm short and on my camper I used thinner wood shingles with epoxy under laminate rated r3 insulation r5's good

Very neat Travel Cabin, very nicely done, subscribed. I have an intense dislike for certain construction materials (eg, chipboard, particle board, plasterboard/gypsum/drywall, etc,) and at the top of that list is Oriented Strand Board (OSB). I never use it in any projects, as I prefer marine grade plywood, though this is in no way a criticism of anyone else's use of it. There's even stuff called waterproof chipboard and OSB available now but I still can't bring myself to consider using it.
@offgridrvchannel9955
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the subscription! I agree with you on the osb. I actually have a pile of marine ply in the shop but am saving it for a boat build. I also just wanted to use some of the materials I had been collecting for years and build for as cheap as i could.

@offgridrvchannel9955
Жыл бұрын
Yes, the sailboat is a 1974 contessa 26. I picked it up a year ago and have plans to get it seaworthy in the spring. I have bought a new main sail and will be adding new head sails, some rigging and am still trying to decide on the engine. it currently has a tired yanmar 1gm. I will be launching and sailing the coast of Maine to begin with. I was thinking of doing some video on that also!
