After you evict Mr. Rat, might I suggest you do a custom re-seal of the entire bottom of your truck including the engine cavity. Around the tires, shocks, any openings. Hey Mav. Great videos. I'm planning to hit the road by spring. Gotta get the truck ready. Anyway, I work in pest control, and thought I might give a little advice on your unwanted guest. If you can't get the snap traps and you have to use the glue boards, you need to anchor them. The boards that you have are designed to be in an enclosure. So here's what you can try. Find a piece of ply wood and glue the glue board down in the middle of the ply. You need to stop the glue board from moving, because that allows the rat to change its position and get off it, or just drag it. You may also try using two glue boards side by side. Remember that the glue board won't kill it, so you'll be dealing with a trapped rat...be careful. Happy hunting!

Maybe its a nest??? Toyota put a rat “deterrent”, that runs all the time, attached to the van’s wiring… And you have all kinds of goodies for rodents to feast on! Look for the electric rat deterrent… Mine has been 100% successful.

I had a mouse problem one and they LOVED the glue boards. The glue boards never caught a single mouse so I upped my game to REAL mouse traps. That did the trick.

Dude, 4 glue traps pieced together with a snap trap in the center on the passenger side floor loaded with peanut butter. My truck had a nest behind the glove box atop the cabin air filter. Good luck, my man!

If the rat has ate the usb-c cable he has probably ate into your wiring system and that’s why your throwing all those codes/alerts…those can be costly at times chasing down the problem…do a video on trading the truck for a new f150 and see how much they give you for yours…I hope you can get it resolved either way definitely is an unsettling feeling dealing with rats in a living space

Hey Mav, just wanted to say how much your videos inspire me, I love them and look forward to each and every one. I'm an apprentice tradesman, traveling around and while I make good money, I'm still an apprentice and a $500 a week motel really eats up my checks..I started car camping in the back of my SUV, after studying your setup. I love your positive, adventure like outlook on EVERYTHING, I try to mirror! My one question for you is WHERE did you find such a slim ( width) mattress?? I use an air mattress that I have to deflate and reinflate every single night and morning, as it takes up my entire space lol. Thanks again Mav, keep on trucking buddy!

The only absolute solution to a rat in a vehicle is Decon. There's too many places for them to hide and it's almost impossible. The decon is like seed and makes em leave to seek out water. Problem solved permanently. :)

As a Pest Tech Certified Operator in the state of Georgia, use decon as a very last resort! Snap traps are the best. If a rodent eats the poison there is a very strong chance that it will die somewhere you cant get to unless you tear the truck apart.
@jamesdyas542

@greendunn1 completely agree. We have this rat poison in England branded by rentokill. If they have access to water within the property they just die in an inaccessible space and then you end up with a fly and smell problem and your fucked. Ultrasonic deterrents are a load of bollocks the best thing is snap traps.

how do you let a rat live in your truck with you for days....Id be at war until I saw it leave, wouldn't do anything else until. Fun story time, moved into my first apartment about 5 years back and I didn't know there was a family of rats living in a cabinet next to the stove...I opened the cabinet when I first got the place and it was full of grocery bags so I figured whatever I'll just not use that one at the moment. Later I figured out the rats were cruising under my security door which had about an inch of space(door now replaced) and heading under my stove and through a hole in the side of the cabinet....Long story short I opened the cabinet and shoved a broom handle in there until one ran out and I screamed like a little girl! Later on I thought I had gotten rid of them all, I went to the bathroom at night and upon exciting I FREAKING STEPPED ON ONE! Little to say war began again and in my underwear at 5am I was in the kitchen murdering that rat. We rat free now.

@@dragonthunder2145 well oh well since you asked! That last rat, i was in my boxers and slippers, took the couch cushions and bordered off the kitchen! Got ready and it popped out of that cabinet so fast all I could think was to step on it....then with all my weight shifted onto that foot I began jumping without actually taking my foot off of it. Id say top 5 grossest experiences of my life.
