Exactly, I've worked for a Trucking Company for about 14 months now and I've seen some disgusting things. I started out as a Washer / Detailer , we constantly clean our trucks because one driver will get out of that truck and the next day somebody else will take that same truck out. So they need to be clean. I've seen Driver's get fired for being too messy, and not taking care of the equipment.

Most of the times it's weight station across the line so what do you look like trying to write down miles going in a weight station 🙄🙄🙄

As a boss as the owner of the truck you just must must must make sure YOU let that driver know you are a very clean company to work for. Try offering incentives for keeping a clean vehicle. It's the little things that matter. A gift card to eat an extra couple dollars for a spotless cab. Little things like that. Incentives for keeping it real. Provide a bucket, cleaner, trash bags, and paper towels or wipes right in the cab. Just a small cleaning kit persay to instill the message, no no one wants to be told to get a shower, do let them know where they can though!.also let your driver know they do need to follow the law and let you know they DO EVERYTHING the laws require. Good luck and God bless. ( It's DEFINATELY tough out there and some will take advantage of your kindness and take it for weekness) So be really up front and honest. Many if not most are just steering wheel holders! Obtained their CDLs out of a box of Cracker Jacks(Cracker Jack drivers). Then they were forced to watch a 30 min Safety video! No Training by a Certified Trainer with Mega carrier! So now we have a know it all greenhorn with that me1st, 4wheeler mentality! Many have don't have a clue what they are getting into and don't last over a year! These small employers then tell these folks, "good luck, don't screw up! I'm not mad at these drivers, I'm mad at the Industry for allowing this! I feel sorry for these drivers! They're getting screwed over and they don't even know it! All about the $s!

Hustle and small business mindset. Lots of good stuff in this story. I advise people why to pay the mechanic versus do shade tree mechanic. This is a big boy business. If in an accident they check all the maintenance records and qualifications. Even if you are a former mechanic you replace a light wrong and the trailer burns down. The insurance will check into it. Drivers are all different. I don't need people to micro manager. Not the cleanest but you have to have good character. Lastly if you are trying to get free fuel. These trucks have cameras. The fuel bays have cameras. Then figures not adding up get you. I have a company mindset so no not helping you with towing.

This ish scares me as a new trucker lmao I’ve been hearing so many horror stories and I don’t think I ever want a partner to drive with unless it’s someone I know for sure at this point. My mother nd two friends are now on their way to get there CDL’s so I’m hoping I can get one of them to drive with cause these type of things I can’t deal with dirt balls, ppl not showering, roaches nd dirty trucks yuck! But that’s crazy it sounds like you should be more worried about ur 2nd truck nd that 2nd driver nd the insurance because he’s speeding and taring the bumpers up clearly he’s going to raise the insurance rather than a newer driver that sucks lol🤦🏽♀️ sheeshhh sorry for all your troubles. Hope you all find better drivers.

My suggestion, find a company to lease your rigs This way the company will dispatch your drivers , handle permits , fuel and ELD, the works All you have to do is maintenance on the rig I understand being your own boss is better, 100% your load BUT To help out with fuel sometimes its best to lease on because these companies know how to charge the fuel cost per load compare to being a small independent business who's trying really hard to take any load to get thier foot in the door. Plus you get discounts on tire, road service, towing. Sounds like u losing alot of money. No mind set on trucking. That Walgreens plus rental cars is making yall lose focus on the big picture See about leasing on. Maybe LANDSTAR JUST SAYING

I’ve seen some trashed up cars, but I always ask if they have kids. It’s always the kids that make it a mess You could clean it everyday, but with kids, nothings ever clean Me: No eating in the car. It’s spotless up front, but every time I turn around it’s always a mess back there despite cleaning it every day **I already know if I let kids in that it’ll be a mess by the time I’m done driving**

Put A Spending Limit On Your Fuel Cards For Your Drivers They Can Only Purchase Fuel Up To That Limit $400.00 To $500.00 A Day And That Will Stop That From Happening.

@@bobbyblinez1103 considering whole town's are under water it's prolly not easy to get gas either lol. I lived out there for about a decade. Never quite seen flooding like this when I lived there.

They didn’t care. They used him for what he was worth and knew his moral check engine light was on before putting him in his own truck. They wanted the wheels to keep turning and didn’t care until he started costing them money.
