Thankfully I'm in a W700-class box van and thus have an easier time just getting to the dock/door no matter the location. One of the locations that I'm at all the time requires that a busy 3.5-way intersection/4-way stop is blocked while a truck can back into a very tight area for (un)-loading. The other business in the same building requires that the truck backs over the curb just next to said intersection if they're pulling anything but a short trailer for some deliveries... Yeah for repurposed buildings!

That's a normal backing for me. I'm Gordon food service driver for the last 4 years. The gard part is unloading and sorting 4 skids of foods, and having to go up two flights of stairs with 200 pounds of food in the handcart.

Kyle Burton day cab is significantly easier because you can see out the back of the cab. you also can jack the trailer with out smashing the sleeper . this allows you to get into tighter spaces with less room. that maneuver can be done with a sleeper, but you would need a better driver. that guy wasn't a bad driver, but his inexperience showed with the multiple pull ups. you shouldn't need more than one, two at most. he may have also gotten a little frustrated with all the traffic and rushed himself. it can happen to even the most seasoned driver.

I would not say fail, but I have a question for many, many driver and is not only new drivers, this goes to a lot of drivers with many years behind the wheel. why the zig zagging in reverse? do you zig zag going forward? why make it harder for you? when you can go straight, do it in one shot and look professional.
@magnusE7
7 жыл бұрын
Gery Garces you zig zag because the trailer will go left or right when you backing, you push on a pin that is center under. when you drive forward you pull on the pin and trailer follow.
