It’s a pleasure to watch you work. It makes me smile to watch this video,with all the cry baby women in America wining about life with all the feminine males that cannot go to bathroom unless there mother is with them,you are buried in mud driving in mud broke down and figuring out how to fix it. Your smiles are beautiful your work ethic is astonishing. Beautiful and feminine. ❤️❤️

Hi Iwona, I know the problem with unscrewing and breaking bolts. We use self securing nuts on machines witch fibrates a lot. It's a lot of work to replace the standard nuts, but in the end you won't have these problems anymore. Second point witch is already mentioned a couple of times: get a extra bracket installed on the inside of your fenders (if you have the room for it), on this moment the force in the downward direction caused by the extra weight of your chains is causing extra stress on your standard fender brackets and bolts downwards. With an extra bracket you reduce this force and reduce the chance of breaking off bolts...

Oh, Iwona… you guys sure know how to have fun on the trail, don't you. 😜 It would take a lot more than a broken fender bracket to stop our intrepid Iwona in her tracks. Glad you found some help come along, and please let us know whether it lasted for a whole month. As always, have fun, be safe, and keep living the dream.🇵🇱👍👍

In my working life I was in the military maintenance. So I know how it feels to repair trucks or tanks out in the field with mud and rain, or snow and cold. And in such circumstances, nothing seems to work as it should. Or you don't have the right spare parts. I have seen it all! It's amazing to see you solving your problems by your own. Nobody expects you to be as strong as a man, but you know to handle it the smart way! Great! And you do not give up. After seeing this video, I am paying you even more respect than before! And as you told in your previous video, drivers always stop and assist fellow drivers who broke down. So, great guy, your Oekraine colleague, Great video too. Keep save and take care of yourself!

For now, you have to get those heavy chains off the fenders until that mount can be reinforced. The weight is too far cantilevered off the mount to the frame. Need much bigger bolts to hold that pounding they are getting on that road . I hope that's it for your troubles ! Love ya !!
@piotrlenar5652
6 жыл бұрын
I don't think it would need bigger bolts. They just shouldn't put those chains there i this rough terrain to much vibrations. It would be a best to have a special brackets to hold those chains.
@xxpr0nag3xx
6 жыл бұрын
its a 5/8'' frame bolt through them. Probably wasn't torqued enough. Most guys run them in with an impact and call em good. Should really throw a little locktite on them so people hitting the bush don't have a problem.
@matthewschiebout9081
6 жыл бұрын
Amen, trucks in Alaska have them located on the side of the tractor. This design is utter crap for rough roads. A joke, really. That's how they mount them in the Lower 48 sometimes. Most designs there aren't tough enough for up North. I like my chains mostly mud and snow free, thank you very much.
@Luv2Trk1
6 жыл бұрын
Those chains should be mounted behind the cab.
@xxpr0nag3xx
6 жыл бұрын
Uhh no. If its directly behind the cab then they will wear a hole into your cab in no time flat. Even with rubber mats protecting them. On rough terrain to, youll be constantly hearing them bash into the back of the cab. Like someone slowly knocking on your house door for hours on end. If she got a different headache rack then she could mount it there. That would be up to her company though as she stated in previous videos, she is not the owner of the truck. Most people hate them there though except for loggers as you have to climb up to get them, then drop them down on the ground. Roll them out. Then throw them on. Instead of peeling them off something waist high. This design is perfectly good. Just sucks the tech installing them didn't torque the bolts enough or use loctite. All she needs to do is bring it back and get them to install it properly.

Such respect and admiration for you Iwona! You are a unique problem solver! I hope there is more than two bolts holding the fender on, if so, then the bolts need to be larger and of a grade 8 or better to stand up to the vibrations. The fenders are a necessary evil, without them the mud would be everywhere and then some!! Someone with some engineering and mechanical ingenuity should be able to keep them fenders on permanently. The chains maybe should be stowed somewhere else though, I don't believe the fenders can support any more weight than their own. Still it was a nice video to watch, a very competent driver solve the problem with a smile and then look forward to breakfast and a beer!! You go girl!! Regards, Ron
@davetaylor9057
6 жыл бұрын
Ron, I don't think some people working as mechanics today know about the different grades of bolts. They only look at thread, size and length. In this case I would bet that the wrong bolts were used when someone at the Freightliner dealer installed the fenders. It would be interesting to know if the work was done by or signed off by a licensed mechanic.

Surprised that bracket wasn't built stronger. I'm sure this is far from the first time this has happened. Wishing you 'The Best' from my retirement home here in the SE US.
