Justin, I’ve admired you for years....you are one of the greatest teachers on the planet... Guys if you really want to know the strumming patterns or anything else you don't know about the song or tune, then buy the book that contains it (listed in the heading here Guitar Lesson SB-212). If you look at the totally amazing list of free songs that Justin has done for u-tube, then I think a little contribution of buying his book would be a just reward, for someone who has definitely contributed greatly to the pleasure of playing guitar to the masses. I have never met Justin but would like to thank him personally for all he has done to further my love of music once again.

Hi Justin! Thanks so much for the video. Is it absolutely essential to be able to do the "thumb wrap"? No matter how hard I try I just cannot do it! I'm only 4'11" and I have small hands ( I know many are small with small hand and amazing guitar players and can probably do the thumb wrap no plm however I am not one of them) and I just can't seem to get it. Is there an alternative method or technique for this part? Just wondering. Thanks!

Nedasnothere FWIW, the basic picking pattern is T&R-I-M-R once for each chord ... this is what is used the whole way through the "once more all the way through" sequence starting at 8:20, and also mostly what is being played in the verse in the beginning of the lesson (where you can see his fingers doing this).

Great song and great explaining Justin, it got me easily true the intro thank you! A question though, after the intro you start explaining the first part Am-G etc. But what i don't understand is wich strings you finger pick exactly? For the intro you described that perfectly clear, but not for the rest... Hope you can fill that in, thank you!
