The wolf hybrid story makes me so sad. We used to have one; they're very high energy and need lots to do. Apartment life is cruel for such a dog!!!
@FiresCollide

Me, too. The dog walker is so clearly hateful of the dog for what it is and an owner who should never have had it. "Beast." "Monster." "Hateful." "Werewolf." It's not a monster; you just weren't equipped to deal with a wolfdog, which is understandable as most people aren't. But that isn't. his. fault.

@@FiresCollideand honestly if the walker talks about any dog like that then they shouldn't be in the business

To be fair every bit of that dogs story can be allocated to a husky being trapped in a apartment all day. Not saying it's fake but the % of wolf in that dog would not have been significant with that behaviour. I feel sorry for it because such large working breeds really need a lot of exercise and training to be happy.
@user-digitalfarmgirl

@@anabellecoetzer442that is so true, people do not often get a dog that complements their lifestyle, but one that strikes their fancy or feeds their ego or looks cool. One should research the individual needs and requirements of any breed, they are considering bringing into their home. One should then think about, whether or not they are properly prepared , to provide all of the things the breed requires to be well adjusted healthy and happy. If you are not willing to walk a working breed 4 X a day then it is not the breed 4 U.

The hellhound story just sounds like what happens when you keep a wolfdog in an apartment and dont properly train it. Wolfdogs are exactly what they sound like, part wolf. Theyre not easy to look after and they require very specialised care from someone who really knows what they're doing. Neither the owner nor that dog walker sounded like people who should be looking after a wolfdog
@FiresCollide

RIGHT?? It's not a hellhound, it's a partly wild animal who isn't properly trained. That's not his fault.

Surprised the wolf hybrid let her in the door! Neither of mine would've. Sounds like it was friendly and well socialized, which was good for her. They are a LOT to handle, especially since obedience doesn't make sense to them. NOT a demon dog, but more than a light woman can handle.

@@FiresCollidewent in nervous, didn't meet it with owner present first, acts like someone who is breed biased Why tf did she take it on. I work part time walking dogs, when we get a new dog we meet the animal with the owner, we have different processes to assess how the dogs are, if they suit group, solo, ect, we have some difficult dogs but they're manageable because of these things We have a couple big strong dogs but even the lighter women can handle them because they actually know what they're doing Also when i first got this job i was shadowing for the first month to get to know all the dogs (small business of 9 people) That dog didn't sound nearly as bad as some ive worked with She had no need to constantly insult it Dog walking isn't the same as having your own dogs, experience with own pets just isn't the same, she wasn't prepared, obviously knew nothing about the dog to start The dogs should never be blamed

Our Siberian Timber Wolf hybrids were extremely obedient & never once challenged us, they would only take food from one person & only eat when told to, his was to prevent them from being poisoned . I never once raised my voice to them & never once struck, hit or kicked them . NEVER. NO NEED TO. It only confused them if you yelled. Non verbal communication w a s the best way to relate to them.

So stupid. Having a stranger try and walk your high risk animal walk him. For the hybrid dog he just knows a strange person is in his home. Trying to pull him around and touch him. Idiotic. One woman in the news in recent years was permanently maimed. Literally losing limbs because the owner lied about the dog’s disposition. Screw that job.

My wolf hybrid was not hyperactive at all. He was 150 lbs. I think because our Siberian Timber Wolf Hybrids were so super chill is because they were so large. The largest was 175 lbs. Also they channeled the energy of their one chosen person. No not active. Only when playing tag with their kitten. Even then they reined themselves in to play with the kitten , so as not to hurt her, or knock her over accidentally. They were so overly cautious with her, it was adorable. They killed a coyote that came on site & menaced their kitten. The little kitten, thought the coyote was just another wolf, that wanted to play tag. When we released the wolves from the repurposed lion cages , they chased it into the bush, then dragged it out and dispatched if it quickly & ate a good deal of it. What was left of it, we used a shovel to clean it up, which was not much at all.
