Hey another tip I forgot to give whenever your building new ship’s always do maximum bulkheads if you want survival and again tech and crew training will win you war also you need to take more territory your at fleet captains meaning your ports don’t have enough space to support your navy so I forgot which button it is but if you click something you can order a naval invasion you just have to have enough tonnage for it to start and even then you need more to increase the chance of success

Japan starts with a crap economy. Things that can grow as fast as possible is to always pick GDP increase unless you absoutly need the money over increasing the naval budget (the gdp will grow budget in time). Depending on how you want to play key techs to get to fast that can pay huge dividends: Dreadnaught I with Hull strengthening if you want big ships; Forced boilers under boilers (good for any ships as you can put less funnels for good efficiency), The more advanced engines makes bid weight savings; Armor quality for Krupp 1+ (huuuuuuugh weight saving in general); And of course if you want to go a torpedo build, better torpedo tech both type and size.

Glad you're keeping it up. I won't give actual advice... but I'll cue you into a couple of useful mechanics. 1) When you have too many ships building, repairing or refitting it slows everything down and costs a lot. Likewise sticking big ships in small ports costs a lot and they repair slower. There's an indicator on the "Finances" screen that shows your max tonnage you can have in port. It turns red when you go over. Red is bad in Dreadnoughts. Often real bad. 2) Microing your turns. There's two bars at the bottom of the combat screen, and the first is speed (the notch is cruising speed for a shot bonus), the second is for hard rudder turns. Try it, sometimes you can squeak out an escape from enemy torps. 3)You can turn off the breaking formation thing - it's wise to - except for long distance BB lines. For TB and DD's trying to get to the back of the line is usually a death sentence, because they get and tend to mess up their own formation. 4) Three ways to help with flooding. a) Bulkheads. b) Spacious crew qualters c) Slow to zero - sends more crew to damage control and stops pushing water into the damage. I can't prove it it but flooding may increase if you turn into the hole -- because the game does know which size you got blasted on. Of course this makes you very easy to hit - it's a desperate measure. Oddly many of the things that actually worked from the eras involved, kinda actually work in the game.

First battle, really good, don't know about the torpedo strat, but if you do, be warned, the A.I. instantly detects torpedoes launched and can dodge, even if they shouldn't be able to. Even of it should be Impossible to see, they see it, they dodge. Using fast torpedoes at close range tends to work best. Second battle, they spawn that far because it's kinda how they did it back in the day, just spotting smoke on the horizon and setting general quarters. Investing in big gun research should get you more advanced marks of guns, as they tend not to be too good until mark 3, where they are reliable enough to use at ranges past point blank. A good rule of thumb I use is to armor the main belt, main deck, Turrets, and Conning Tower against main gun AP, and the extended belt and deck against secondary gun AP. Superstructure should be armored against at least secondary HE. Also, keep constant speed. Changing speed and course tends to throw off your firing solutions. Third battle was a great usage of your superior range against cruisers, and why long range gunnery is going to be so important. Therefore, research priority should go to guns and engines, so you get faster battleships with accurate long range guns. Big ups if you get turbine engines and mark 3 12 inch guns by 1906, making the first Dreadnought.

For battleship accuracy just keep at cruising speed for these era, and each era have different crusing speed due to engine. Also when damaged ship will lose accuracy , so it usually first hit first win,

One of your BBs exploded last episode? Didn't even notice. Honestly this Fleet is a pretty good set up FOR THE TIME. Lots of TBs with a few hard hitting battleships. This really is a Grate Game far as Naval Gun battles go. Although it feels weird that you have NO IMPUT over political matters, can lead to very WIERD things happening. Like forming alliances with minor nations and stuff like that is all AI. Also I just remembered how research works, ALL TECHS get researched at the same time, but dedicating a BEAKER to a certain tech will FOCUS most of the Research Budget on that Tech, and you have 3 BEAKERs to play with. So those 3 techs will get Priority researched over all over techs.

Yeah, right towards the end of the battle as the formation was turning away a 7 inch shell got a lucky hit and flash fired the fore turret right off the ship 8 minutes after impact RIP

42:48 the reason you are slower is because of the flooding specifically in the stern not just the damage

41:22 So are you playing Dreadnaught, or Age of Sail ? Btw surrender is actually one of the options to take out a ship, though you can't really optimize for it and you don't get to capture the surrendering ship after it.

In politics menu at the respective nation you at war with, naval invasion usually need alot of tonnage that already active on sea, for minor country usually event only trigger invasion
