Magnetic screw driver used to pick up. 6 mm and 5.5 were the sockets I needed to.use . Very awkward positioning but got it eventually. Cherrs

Very useful. I replaced my element and a couple of points that some might find useful. I was able to get element out and new one inserted without removing the fuse board. Secondly to replace the nuts on the new element insert a bit of blue tack into socket then push nut into socket where it will remain without falling out. All the other bits of the video were useful and accurate.

good video, i think the best way to join the cable would to have cut about 8 inches off the original lead from the old element and either soldered it to the new lead from the new element or use a chocbox to join the old lead to the new, either way you would have the original connector on the lead from the element as sometimes you can disconnect this plug to reset the element, also means if you have to replace again down the line it would make it easier

I would think so. You can test the element by using a multimeter on the continuity setting. If its faulty you will not get a reading. Similar to testing a light bulb 💡

@ifyounevertryyouneverlearn3156

Could be a couple of things. The caravan in the video had a set of visible fuses where the earth trip fuse is. Have you checked these ? Personally I would open the electrical connection point that connects to the element and test for power. If 240v at the connection then element blown. If no power start working backwards to the fuse board.

You electrical connections are not safe! These cables should be connected using a terminal block which should then be placed in a coffin box and then tie wrapped.
