Our world is riddled with hate and as long as hate is the driving force, reason will never prevail because anger and hate block your brain's ability to think rationally, we are deeply Divided by hate toward a person's race, sexual orientation, and nationality, that in and of itself is a crime. While I may not agree with you, I will respectively disagree and realize we all have the capacity to build up or tear down. It is a choice that every single human being must face. What is your choice? Bad things happen all the time but hate builds on hate. Choose to forgive and move on, build rather than tear down. These men are heroes. They survived white hate and are speaking about it. My heroes, who were hated on, imprisoned, and who knows how they were treated inside, are inspiring. Thank you, gentlemen, for not putting your hands on that white woman. They accuse us every day. Some new brothers barely 18 or younger as we have seen, can go to jail. A practice with thousands of years in the making must come to an end. Our sisters, please do not abandon us.

It was a travesty of justice, to be sure. But, before dubbing these men "heroes" please remember that at least some of them did physically assault several unidentified individuals and threw rocks at passing cars. The point is to focus on the miscarriage of justice, not canonize perpetrators of crime.

As of August 25, 2024, 27 states and American Samoa still have the death penalty as a legal penalty at the federal level. However, 20 of those states only have the authority to sentence people to death, while the other seven, along with the federal government and military, have moratoriums in place. The states that still have the death penalty include: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, and Kentucky. Other states that have the death penalty include Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. The death penalty is usually reserved for the most serious crimes, such as aggravated murder. However, there is no credible evidence that the death penalty deters crime. Since 1973, at least 189 people who were wrongly convicted and sentenced to death have been exonerated. In 2023, seven states sentenced people to death, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Texas. In the same year, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced a moratorium on executions, and Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and Attorney General Kris Mayes ordered an examination of the state's execution procedures.

The death penalty has never been a deterrent in any country. Humans don't think that far ahead when they're committing a crime. The only time it ever worked was in Transylvania, when Vlad Tepes-- Vlad the Impaler-- instituted an automatic death penalty for any and all infractions, including wearing the wrong type of shoes.
