EGO is undefeated... some kids just want that D1 sweatshirt and gear... then they sit and end up quitting...

I’ve talked to a few D1 coaches who have said my son has D1 talent but D3 size (5’8 210lbs MLB). Try have said he would earn a ship after a year or two walking on. But he has a 4.2 gpa. He has a few D3’s interested and one is a top level engineer school. I think that’s the route we might go.

lot of places have money for out of state kids... kids in certain majors... kids with no cash... kids with grades... so if u happen to be all of the above your overall scholarship package can be kinda nice...

Some do. like John Hopkins university. Will find a really high level D1 4 star football player who also plays lacrosse give them a full ride on a lacrosse scholarship. An now you got a 4 star football recruit on a full d1 athletic scholarship at a D3 school.

They give you a little bit of money and say it’s for academics
@RecruitingBoard

Yes and no. Depending on the player, they will give better scholarship money to. However, at D3, academics matter more than athletics.

Recruiting Board yeah that’s why they call it academic money. So *yes

@@TheMrwacko55 You were wrong on this. They don't give athletic scholarships. If you can prove that a student got one at a DIII, let me know and I will reach out to the school to verify that they gave an athletic, not merit based.

@@TheMrwacko55 Lol. I was just stating out that three years ago you were wrong and are to this day. If you can prove that a DIII college gives athletic money and says it's academic. Comment their name so I can reach out to them and ask.

Hey, I'm from Germany and I'm going to play basketball in the US next year due to my year abroud. I've done some research watched games online from players that did end up getting d2 and d3 offers and I believe that I am on the same level as them, no disrespect to anyone. Are Colleges even willed to offer scholarships to students from other countries that have no experience in the whole scouting process and high school sports in general? Take care man, loved the vid!

Hi! They technically could offer you a scholarship. You would just have to get in touch with them. D3 colleges don't give athletic scholarships, but if you applied to the school and got in, you could most likely be on the team. D2, you would want to get in touch with the school early. What happens if i’m from Italy and i play in a d3 or d2 school and i get injured. If they take away my scholarship, what do i do next ?

Hi! Do you play D2/D3 in America? So for D3, they wouldn't be able to take their athletic scholarship, because they don't offer them. For D2: That would be between you and your coach. They may or may not pull the scholarship, but I would check in with them. Some schools will honor your scholarship even if you're injured.

Question. Does a D3 athlete have more free time for the college experience, as opposed to a D1 athlete who has little or no free time for the same experience?
@RecruitingBoard

They have more free time as opposed, but in season their schedules are plenty rigorous.

Playing division 3 sports would be a huge disappointment. I’d rather go to a D1 or D2 school just for academics.
