BRANDI, I must have been living under a rock! I do not know anything about mica powder .... Please teach us more! I loved the look you did. And I'm sure I can PLOP it out all over just like you showed us not to do!!! Watching you tap tap tap your glitter on the Mod Podge reminded me of my grandfather tapping his pepper shaker every time he would put pepper on his food. We always watched and giggled, not sure why but it still makes me smile! Hugs

This is just a quickie, not really knowing what youre into, but you can make easily metallic versions from your regular acrylic paints, just add the color that is closest or even pure silver, the effect is slightly different, but still considered metallic. Also if you have lame or underwhelming ink pad, it turns to snazzy metallic with mica. It goes almost everywhere you can put glitter, there goes mica too. Or mix both of them, it creates different kind of sparkle, more dimensional. For underwhelming gold or silver paint, add more mica. I bought really high quality silver mica, mixed it with my “meh” silver paint and got nearly guilders paint like end result. I was really lost with the silver paint before, I didnt want to use it at all, now I grab it all the time. Add it to different clays for color and pizazz. Color resin with it, or if you wanna skimp, color inside of your mould and the resin will stick itself to it. Double sided tape turns to metallic tape. Just remember that it needs some kind of binder to stick on (except as an eye shadow) and you can put it anywhere. Buy lipstick, gloss or balm base and make your own colors or pour it in nail polish. If you dont still find it appealing, add a little gum arabic (just few drops, or honey), mix well with palette knife and you have metallic watercolors. (Linseed oil for oil paints.) Not a single store-bought palette is even near as bright and shimmery, even the very expensive ones look sad compared to homemade ones. Im a watercolorist, I use them for naturally shiny things like rocks, hummingbirds and insects all the time, or paint just with them alone. Best effect comes with black or dark paper (if you use only them), its visible in white too, but the wow is missing and who needs that :)

These are brilliant hacks and ideas. I’m always skeptical when I see a hack bc 99% of them aren’t really hacks. However, these are great ideas! I have a few jars that I didn’t know what I wanted to do w/ them, but now I’m definitely doing the mica powder/modge podge on them! I also love how real you are. Crafting can be messy, and thankfully you left them and didn’t edit them out. It makes me feel so much better about my oops’s. 😅
