It's the other way around for me😂 I LOVED it at first. So one day, we got some and I was absolutely devouring it, until I ate too much and vomited it all out! Since then, even the smell makes me nauseous 🤢 I tried to taste it again after many years but my body refused, it got truamatised after that incident 😂😭

Malaysian here. The last time and best taste I've had is Musang King, before the price skyrocketed tenfold even locally. The creamiest ever. Durians are best tasted where they came from, and if you happen to like fermented food also, try tempoyak (fermented durian paste) or tempoyak-based food that go well with plain white rice.

😮, Dorian is my favourite fruit. If you don't like it you may say it smells bad but if you like the fruits, the smell is great 🤑. But for that prices is very expensive, in Zanzibar, Tanzania it ranges from 1.23$ to 6.5$. The price will depend on the size and the season.

My teacher bought one for our class when I was in culinary school. I, being a student of cuisine, and also feeling kind of guilty that my teacher had shelled out quite of bit of his own cash for it, decided to have a bite. I went back for thirds. It tastes weird, but also really good? I can't quite describe it. That onion sock flavor is still there, but it gives way to this sweet, creamy, fruity flavor. I'd have more. As long as someone else was buying.

If you live in California or are planning to visit here, More specifically around Los Angeles Chinatown and Van Nuys, try buying durian at Ranch 99 Supermarket chain or at a restaurant or shop in Chinatown. The fruit isn’t cheap but it’ll only cost you *$14-20* for a single fruit, not even Per pound/kilo

Seeing your parents help each other cut durian is so adorable. I have this weird thing about once I try something new (weird tasting) I don’t like the flavor on my first try but after a few days, maybe even months I find myself craving for it and go back to trying it again and actually loving it afterwards. Don’t know if it’s the same for others though. Lol. Btw it was natto beans, cottage cheese, and jackfruit (all eaten separately). Would love to try durian too.

There are at least 3 - 4 rows in the durian. In each row there are about at least 2 - 5 of the edibles. Well that's what I think. I love to eat durian.

You should try them really fresh, like from your home country, vietnam, thailand Philippines. They smell flowery and fruity with a creamy flavor. I personally like the chewy parts as well! Hope you'll get to try them

You should try "durian kuning", which is yellow durian, it has a much brighter yellow colour, sometimes bright orange and red too. It does have a smell but not too strong, it is much sweeter and less fizzy (?) then the durian that you usually can find in a supermarket. But this type of durian only grows on Borneo island. So any country in borneo island grows both of these durian.

I tried durian for the first time a couple days ago. The smell from a distance was quite frankly repulsive but when I put my face right up to it I loved the smell. The taste and texture blew my mind and it has easily become my favorite fruit of all time. My only issue now is trying to find it reliably without having to drive 5 hours.

it is tasty for some people, there are lots of types of durian. musang king is quite sweet while (i forgot the name) is quite bitter but both is yummy (to me) because i live in malaysia :D

I got durian for a much cheaper price. Like $20 dollars at a local Asian grocery here. It’s typically very pricey but I got it for that cheap bcos it was a little too ripe. Omg, it’s heavenly. I could just survive on durians all my life. And secondly, jackfruits. My dad would soak the jackfruits in honey because I had asthma and plain jackfruit will aggravate the condition. My two most fav fruits of all time. The best!
