Hello! I'm fairly certain that these etchr watercolors are the exact same paints as superior/tinge "master level" 48 half pan set! The thickness of the pan, appearance of the colors, and basically everything about them is the same. They're around the same price I believe. The master level ones come in a teal big tin. I really hope you read this comment, because I'm basically completely sure they're the same and I'd love for someone to do the comparison!

I enjoyed watching your video, I was reminded of my first college instructor, he told us first day not to get hung up on brand names for supplies. He even had a materials list that had different brands of paints because he said he disliked how Grumbacher (The Premier brand in America when I was in college) created a couple of their paints. I often wonder how other artists change brands, we buy enough paint to last a long time and I tend to stick to the ones I learned with. I switched brands when I saw videos by Denise Soden of In Liquid Color. I have never had such a conversation moment before with an art supply! The brand is DaVinci Paints, I cannot recommend them enough! Professional grade paints that do not empty your wallet!! Well any company creates products that you can buy will have enough to buy if you want all of them! But they have many sets to further your art journey without breaking the bank. I love the Earth Friendly Set Denise created. That a company was even thinking about a product like this says something key about them! I am not so sure about Escher, what are your thoughts about this? Thank you for sharing your opinion on the supplies I hope that you continue to create with them and keep us informed of your progress, thanks again!

I'm starting to think Etchr products are both overrated and overpriced. For the cost of all of these items, you can purchase a useful set of artist-grade supplies. You wouldn't have as many colors, but they'd be better quality. For beginners, just know there are better options than to start with these.

hello, i’ve been a huge fan of your art for the longest time, and i have a request for a possible review of watercolors!! I’ve been looking around for very bright and vibrant watercolors that won’t break the bank and that will fit my art style. i’ve come across a brand called Shinhan pwc, and looking through a lot of reviews seem to be either very positive or somewhat meh... i am a young artist and the low price for artist grade watercolors seems very promising, as well as the brightness, but a lot of reviews seem to vary from video to video, and i really want to make sure i am happy with my purchase if i decide to go for these watercolors. Is there any way that you could review this brand? Thank you so much!! 💖

I know this really has nothing to with the video, but (for once) I'm early so I thought I'd ask: When I look at my old drawings/ paintings, I always beat myself up about how "ugly" and "bad" they are, even if they're fairly recent. This leads me to end up deleting posts from my Instagram account very often. But I don't think it has much to do with social media since this was something I have always done, not just with art. So I was wondering how you don't do that. Especially since you have posted drawings from when you just began. Like, do you have any tips on being nicer to oneself? It's weird because I really admire people who aren't afraid of not being perfect and they are the only ones I follow, but still for some unknown reason, I can't be like that myself. Is it something that comes overtime? I really hope you (or someone else scrollin' through the comments) can answer :) Stay safe

I think that Chroma Moma (another KZitem artist) says it best when it comes to bad drawings, don’t be afraid of them, make tons of them. I draw maybe 6 days a week, for maybe a little more than an hour if I can manage to get into the zone. Out of all of these drawings maybe 1 or 2 have potential the rest are hot garbage 😂 but you gotta embrace that you’re not always gonna make fire work. All artists make works they end up not liking and there are solutions. When you make something you don’t like, ask yourself why you don’t like it. Maybe the anatomy is off, you can always do some studies of anatomy or gesture drawings. Or maybe your perspective is wonky, try looking up a tutorial or maybe find a online class. Or maybe it’s the tools/medium you’re using, for example, I enjoyed watercolors until I started to hate how it made my art look, so I switched to digital and I’m a lot happier now. Every day is a step closer to the art you want to make, so be kind to yourself. If it’s something you really want, you’ll get there I promise. Everything in life takes time so try new things if it doesn’t bring you joy or if it all feels like too much don’t be afraid to take a break and take a day or two off and do something else you enjoy and recharge your batteries and jump right back in❤️

Heya! I would say that seeing mistakes in your old art means you are improving! You are better able to see what is wrong, and with time you will know how to fix it. Personally I keep old art posts (although I haven’t posted for that long) because you can see the process, which I find a fun idea to see how my style is developing. So I think maybe find a reason why you want to keep them, and work on trying to keep post up for a longer time, you worked on them so they aren’t bad, you just learn what could be better. Hope this helps!

(Apologies for the wall of text in advance) It's a little cliche but true: we're our worst critics. Creative minds are harsh especially towards themselves. Add to that, we also have a tendency to compare ourselves to others and it makes us feel worse instead of inspired (like it actually should be, I mean logically, why should we be jealous of other artists? There's really no reason) We also see our work daily, or at least we have a very prolonged exposure towards it so it's very difficult to make out noticeable changes (kind of like watching a pet dog or cat grow. I didn't even realize my puppy grew until it hit me one day that I couldn't pick her up anymore haha!) So we feel like we don't improve, or at least, that we're not growing as much as we think we are. But that's not true! Every time you work on a piece, you learn something, and you're constantly growing with every mistake you make. But a perfectionist attitude is hard to get rid of, and everything looks/feels bad if it's not how we expect it to be, I understand. It's hard to break out of. Another thing is, because of that, we're afraid of criticism. If not consciously, then subconsciously. WE know we made something "bad", but there's an anxiety that someone else will point it out and belittle your work. How to break out of it will take time, but it's definitely not too late to start. Though it seems counterintuitive to what I said beforr, having a person/people to see your work will make a difference in how you perceive your work and help to boost your own confidence in your work. It can be just one person, or heck, even a pet or something. I had my best friend and slowly it grew into a wholesome little community online. Their job IS NOT to be your "yes-man" and say everything you make is good, but to give you the push where you need it, because even though it's good to be self reliant, asking for help isn't a bad thing, and knowing there are people who would do that for you just makes you feel good too. Another thing, which is also easier said than done, is a change in mindset. Instead of being unproductive and saying, "oh this is terrible, I can't make anything good" and just scrapping your work altogether, try and think about WHY it isn't good and work towards improving it, and look forward to the improvements to come. Deleting your mistakes and bad work means deleting your effort and progress. Like, why do you want to cover it up? I think that's the core thing to find out. Once you can figure it out, think about ways you could resolve the conflict. For example, if you're covering it up because you're embarrassed by it, why is embarrassing and what can you do to make you feel less embarrassed about it? Lastly, just allow yourself to be bad. Again, a cliche, but true. It takes a while to be accepting of it because nobody wants to be bad, but we can't be good all the time either. Resist the urge as much as you can. Maybe develop another habit instead of deleting it. I repurpose my scrapped works or just start on something new and make a list of things I want to change on it. Accept the totality of it, take your time to air out frustrations, and move on; if it's done, it's done and there's still so much more you can do. I realize this isn't exactly "how to be nicer to yourself" but I feel the process of acceptance and moving forward will create that change naturally, since you'll be slowly shifting away from punishing yourself to allowing yourself have room for growth.
