My fav 'Mango Sticky Rice'in malay we call "pulut mangga " Pulut mangga is a traditional Malaysian dessert that consists of glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk and served with slices of ripe mango. The glutinous rice is typically flavored with pandan leaves, which give it a fragrant aroma and a slightly sweet taste. The dish is often topped with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds or roasted peanuts for added texture and flavor. Pulut mangga is a popular dessert during the summer months when mangoes are in season, and it can be found in many Malaysian restaurants and street food vendors. "Selamat datang!" which means "welcome" in Malay. Malaysia is a wonderful country with stunning natural beauty, delicious food, and a rich cultural heritage. Be sure to explore its vibrant cities, beautiful beaches, and lush rainforests, and take the time to learn about the different cultures and traditions that make up this fascinating country. Enjoy your stay! Malaysia Truly Asia😍

The dessert in the cup is called cendol( pronounced as chendol). The green noodle like thing is called cendol. Its made of rice flour flavoured with pandan thus the green colour. The meat in skewer that you are having is not satay. Satay is meat in shorter skewers and served in peanut sauce. You should try them. Other dishes you should try are roti canai(chanai), banana curry leaf, nasi lemak, nasi kandar. For breakfast you should have roti canai or kaya toast with half boiled egg. These are just a tiny bit of the types of food you can try here in Malaysia.

Hi @Kyle and Madie welcome to Malaysia, thank you for your great video. Just want to inform you about the skewer. It is probably not Satay, it missing the peanut sauce and it shouldn't have a curry flavor, plus a stick for 6 ringgit is very-very expensive. Typical satay is grill with charcoal + provided with condiment such as slice pieces of cucumber and shallot and compressed rice. The normal price wise is between rm1 up to rm3 per stick depend on the meat either it is chicken, beef or lamb. Hope that help

BTW, long ago singapore was part of malaysia, we separated in 1965. So whatever food you saw or ate there is the same here. Just that it is tastier here as the gov there may control certain ingredients. We cook it the way our ancestors did. Even Singaporeans come over here to indulge in food. I would say thai food and Malaysian food are diverse and the best in South east asia.

@Kyle and Madie suggestion. Penang, melaka and ipoh are very good places to smell, eat and taste food. Of course there are other cities which are unique too. But these places are more multi cultural. Therefore more diverse food. Since you only have 9 days here. Better to hit the road soon and not stay in kl too long

Jalan Alor is wayy too overated. What used to be a seedy area (read:brothel) it has turned into a tourist trap. I repeat, a TOURIST TRAP. a RM16 hokien mee from the street stall is a total rip-off. And so it goes for the rest of the other offerings, 30~40% more to charge unsuspecting tourists. What a turn-off and a big embarrasment for us locals.

@Anna Yeo to be fair, it depends on ingredient and portion size too. There is one famous hokkien mee stall in klang called "new boston". It is fully packed. I even met Singaporeans there. It cost between 20 to 30 ringgit for hokkien mee. But 4 persons can eat with other stuff. Typically 4 to 5 persons will cost more than 100 ringgit for sure. And not even with AC. Only 1 small area has AC. The rest sit at sidewalks and road shoulders !!
