I haven't been to Japan but I did eat at McDonald's in Odessa Ukraine. Tasted just like home. The one BIG difference was the packets of ketchup. I love ketchup and asked for 10 or 12 packets. The girl's eyes nearly popped out of her head and then asked, "Really?!" I didn't understand her shock at my request until she pulled some packets from under the counter. 1 of their packets was equal to roughly 5 here in the US and if memory serves each packet cost an extra 10 cents. I got 3 or 4. I still have the tray liner written in Ukrainian (Russian really).

They serve Coke Zero instead of Diet Coke. We don’t have Diet Coke here, but the Coke Zero is pretty much similar. As far as the pie, it’s actually not a “strawberry pie”, but a strawberry daifuku pie strawberry mochi and bean paste. It’s based an on beloved Japanese confection.
