In case you haven't figured it out; on ordering drinks at mamaks and most Malaysian restaurants: 1. Tea (Teh), coffee (kopi), nescafe and Milo are all served hot with sweetened condense milk. 2. If you add an "O" a the end, it means no milk. Teh-O is simply tea without milk but they will throw in a ton of sugar. 3. If you add "Kosong" (empty/zero) at the end - No sugar. So, a Teh-O-Kosong, means tea without milk and sugar. 4. If you want a cold version just add the word "ice" at the end, such as "Teh Ice" or "Kopi Ice". 5. If you want your coffee or tea to be stronger or thicker, in the case of Milo, you add the word "Kau" (pronounced Cow) 5. Most mamak and Indian restaurants serve fresh milk on request. The milk is usually from cows but some do have goat's milk too. To order this just add the words "susu lembu" (cow's milk) or "susu kambing" (goat' milk). Try "Teh Susu Lembu". Lovely stuff. 6. We love mixing our drinks, so there is coffee with tea (i think it's called cham), Neslo: Nescafe and Milo (Malaysian version of a Mocha), or try our soya-chincau and laici-susu pekat (laici with sweetened condense milk), Have Fun

If you want them to add condensed milk you can say "C" (chi) so for milk tea is teh c peng (cold), suam (warm sometimes it could be hot as hell)

Well, thanks!! Funny story, growing up my parents were great cooks and always let me invite friends over for dinner. BUT, in order for my friends to be allowed to eat with us they had to try something they have never tried before. We were like 10 years old and my dad was feeding us octopus and anchovies and other weird stuff to try before dinner haha 😂 So I was kinda raised to be this way. Ryan on the other hand has always been rebellious with food... he would NEVER eat and try feeding his food to his dog 😂 We are very different in that way. Much love! -Stacia

Loved the intro! Truth be told in Penang when it comes to food one can hardly go wrong for the simple reason that if it ain't good one won't be in business for long.... Great vlog as always!! Nasi kandar's secret is the use of tonnes of spices in just the right amount and in just the right way that the dishes just compliment each other as you eat them. It's a flavorful delight that really you can only get in Penang.... In a way it's a microcosm of us Malaysians where all the different cultures and influences when harnessed properly is a powerful thing indeed!!

Apart from those usual touristy places in Ipoh, do explore the outskirts where you can hike mountain (Kledang Hill where you may encounter monkeys again!), visit Gua Tempurung, (a magnificent and historical limestone cave which is one of the largest in Peninsular Malaysia), Sunway Lost World Theme Park in Tambun where you can cool off and have a splashing good time whilst facing the beautiful limestone hills existed apparently million of years!. If money is no object, you can stay at Banjaran Hotspring Resort and enjoy Jeff's cellar breathtaking bar which is named by CNN Greece as one of the five most magnificent bars in the world. The list can just go on..... Ipoh is definitely not as hectic as in KL or Penang and the cost of living is relatively much lower. A lot of retirees, local or foreigners, enjoy living in Ipoh. You will be spoilt for the variety of food!. Do enjoy, take care and most of all be safe.

You must try: Nasi Kandar Jamal Mohamed atau lebih dikenali sebagai Nasi Kandar Pokok Ketapang tepi bangunan TM dekat Jalan Bagan Luar, butterworth, penang memang terbaik... Marbeles... Sempoi bak hang... Rugi hangpa tak try pi makan... Tips: Jangan pi makan time cuti sekolah, kalau pi jugak, hangpa kene beratur dekat setengah jam baru boleh amek nasi... #KampungKu #JalanMohdSaad #JaMoSa #BaganJermal #AnakAntu #ANT369

The beauty of Malaysian food is that there are several "best"s of each food item (in Penang, at least). Another Nasi Kandar place to try is Deen Maju, and if you haven't had Char Koay Teow (CKT), there are many options, but the one a lot of people and tourists go to is on Siam Road (be prepared to queue up!)

Yeah, everything is up to personal preference.. but that's what makes it possible for more small businesses to succeed. Definitely have to try the famous Char Okay Teow... we had some on Chulia street and it was good! Thanks for the suggestion 🙏❤️

You guys should try Red Garden Food Paradise on Lebuh Leith. It’s a food court with a lot of different things to try. They also have very good sea food there! And they play live music or do karaoke from time to time

Nasi Lemak is not a thing of Kuala Lumpur. It is considered our National dish, though it is very hard to say these days as so many dishes are competing for that spot. You can get Nasi Kandar throughout Malaysia, however, it originates from the northern parts of Malaysia and most say it was Penang.

Roti Pak Lan is pretty good for roti canai, but remember to be early because it's usually sold out by 11am. Here's the address, it's up on the north side of penang island: 564, Jalan Batu Ferringhi, Taman Tanjung Bunga, 10470 Tanjung Bungah, Pulau Pinang

G’day DBV, how ya goin’? The food vlog is an abso-bloody-lutely ripper mate. Goin’ down for a tucker, the chowing down on the noodles and shaved ice is making me kinda peckish. I could use a snag or two sauso and a coldie too!. It’s always a good idea to check for poison, otherwise you could end up in the dunny. It not fun, innit? That’s fair dinkum, don’tcha think? The bog in was enthusiastic. I had a bonzer time watching the vlog... time to pull up stumps... 😋
