Okay real talk. For tension headaches/migraines icing or putting heat on the back of your neck can help because that’s typically where the tension originates from. Also for general migraines it sometimes helps to get a large bowl, fill it with ice and water, and then completely submerging your hands for as long as you can stand it. Sounds odd but as someone who deals with chronic migraines these are honestly tricks that have helped me in the past.

@bridgetmctavish1121

To be fair, the rice in the doll works and so does the feet in water for a headache (if minor; hot water will draw blood away from your head, but so will food in the stomach and also painkillers are pretty effective-). That being said, if you want to save your white board, sharpie actually wipes away pretty easily with alcohol. As someone who worked in a restaurant with nothing but a laminated list and a sharpie provided (people kept losing the dry erase markers), sanitizer and/or rubbing alcohol and scrubbing actually does work like borderline magic. Way better than toothpaste, anyway.
@TheFiercestCreatureInTheWorld

Girls and women are actresses. We are different from boys and men. I hate seeing people trying to erase that. I act and am not ashamed of being a woman, therefore I don't find it offensive to acknowledge the difference between the sexes in our job title. Actually I suffered from migraines all my life and putting your hands and feet into warm water draws the blood from your head and decreases inflammation and it helps relive migraines. So I support that life hack 100%

Toothpaste is actually kinda abrasive if I remember right. What my classmates and I used to do to get marker off of the whiteboard is we'd take the whiteboard marker and scribble over the marker stain then rub it off. Alcohol such as hand sanitiser might work as well

@@mastermarkus5307 I have nothing better to do so I did a quick google and it seems as if all toothpaste is abrasive though the degree of how much varies. As an example I myself use toothpaste made for sensitive teeth so the abrasiveness(?) is a lot less than average toothpaste

Not gonna lie, the plush with rice is an actual thing in my household. My mom would microwave this fabric bag of rice & we would keep it wherever our body was sore at night. It’s really helps 👌🏼
@catelynh1020

I dunno if I'd microwave a stuffed animal, though. *I* know where my stuffed animals were when I was a kid and I wouldn't want them anywhere near food. I do have a bag of rice I warm up and use when my body's hurting, but it's kept off the microwave on a plate to be heated
@catelynh1020

@Nathaniel Shrock If you have daughters that get cramps with their periods, the rice bag is amazing for sleeping on. It adds pressure and warmth when you lay on it which helps ease cramps just annoying enough to make it hard to sleep. Or if your kids have cold feet, warm up the bag and put it under the blankets near where their feet go to warm the space before they go to bed (something I didn't realize was even possible before I was in college and had freezing feet through most of my life). It's also great just on your lap or in your shirt if your house is really cold, too. Like say heater broken in winter cold. So there's actually quite a few uses for it. If you get a bag, though, do cotton, non-instant rice, and *do not warm it too long in the microwave* as cotton doesn't melt like plastic fibers do but can catch on fire if too hot.

Same, we had a long one that's super nice to drape around your neck if it's painful. My granny also used a similar method to make some doorstops by sewing a bunch of cute floppy frogs and filling them with lentils.
@emmao6578

@Nathaniel Shrock just put it on a clean plate before putting it in the microwave and you've not got much to worry about. You can only lightly surface clean toys/bags with rice in like this as you can't get the rice wet or it'll go mouldy, sorry if that was obvious to you but I wasn't sure what you meant by "clean after each use" and figured better to warn you than let you find out after you've accidentally ruined your kids toy. Also if you want to avoid the DIY or traumatising your kids by tearing open their favourite toys you can buy heatable toys like this readymade.

I solved the loud doors everywhere by self-stick felt furniture pads, it costs less than a glue gun and isn't that messy. But it's probably not a hack, but simply things working the way they were intended to work...

Yep, just like putting O-rings under keys to dampen them bottoming out (good for red switches). Most of the noise I make is while typing otherwise you'd never know I was alive, but yesterday treated myself to some blue switches (I'm sure my neighbor loves it slightly less), its the equivalent of putting a bell that dings every time you shut the door but the clickies can click!
@jakegarrett8109
2 жыл бұрын
@Nathaniel Shrock Cherry MX reds have no actuation click and only smooth consistent travel (actuation distance is about midpoint at like 3mm or something, it has a specific spec if you want to look it what its spring rate and distance is). Blues are the really loud clicky ones (most feedback with feel and sound), so those are preferred by typists while gamers like the faster and softer reds for double tapping keys at the fastest possible rate. There are other key types like brown/black/clear and those are all kind of between. Other brands mimic these so "blue" for one brand will be slightly different than Cherry spec, but will still be that companies clicky version, and reds will still be their lightest no-click keys.

12:25 Actually have a good life hack for this. You can clean permanent marker with alcohol based markers. Just srart drawing on the permanent lines with your alcohol based marker and they shoud wipe of very easely. Most of white board markers alcohol based any way, saved me a couple of times) Or any rubbing or hight proof alcohol on a napkin can help too

this is also really useful if you write a todo list on a whiteboard and things stay on there for months without getting wiped off, if you're having trouble removing something just scribble over it again and it'll wipe clean.
