I've been following you since you started. The Empty Tomb series and others really educated and helped me on my personal journey. And of course the silly ones! (gawd I even miss NephilimFree, VenomFangX, Geerup... Pure comedy goldmines!) You've made a positive difference in my life, and you ain't done yet!! Pull through, keep going. I love ya!

I own the GR33 and GR55. I can relate to all the frustration with ghost notes and other tracking issues. The 55 is a lot better than the 33, but neither one is perfect. I've wondered if the fishman Triple Play is any better.

Fishman triple plays pretty good. but I think it picks up ghost notes too.

@@diobrando5896 That’s kind of what I figured. I’ve finally realized after 3 decades of fooling around with midi based guitar tracking, there will always be these issues. I wish Roland would make an affordable version of the GR 300. I think that a true synthesizer like that would be what I’m really after.

@@vt6020 I don't know why this MIDI system doesn't seem to work well with the GR-55. I forget what kind I bought cuz it's been many many years ago and I gave up trying to use it because it didn't track even in the ballpark so I just let the stuff rot and just used the magnet pickups. I rarely used the piezo pickups in it either. OH WELL. I'm sure someone out there is enjoying great tracking with no lag or weird false triggers but it aint me!

@@TruthSurge I know you were having issues, but I could here what you were trying to do and it sounded good. For me, it’s just those random times when I don’t play cleanly enough that can ruin an otherwise decent line or chord sequence. I enjoy your content and look forward to your next video. ✌🏼

Next, drums on the guitar That was great!

well, you can. i programmed all the drum stuff I ever did using a MIDI synth banging on keys of a sythesizer (DX 7) so I can do the same with guitar but since the triggering isn't that great, I probably won't even try it. Too hard anyway to try and play certain notes for certain drums. If I was motivated I could get a MIDI drum kit and try to actually play some drums. That would be fun unless it was way too advanced.

@@73macrino you can trigger any MIDI note from the guitar so you can play 6 notes at a time and those notes can be mapped to whatever samples you have set up in your sound module whether it's a dedicated synth like GR-55 or some VST plugin like Omnisphere or a drum plugin like Addictive Drums. It'll work but not a fun thought trying to play drums via guitar. Synth or drum pads on a synth or a MIDI drumkit would be the only ways for me.

Maybe try taping off some of the strings on fret 1 or 2 with painter's tape. If you don't use open notes on certain strings, the midi device might pick up some unwanted noise as you move around the fretboard and it'll think you're playing notes that weren't intended. Anyway, even if this isn't perfect to you it sounds effin great to me and I would totally listen to a full album of this. Just sayin'. Hope this helps.
@TruthSurge

Nah, tape isn't going to help. I don't make a lot of noise moving my hand about compared to the volume the notes are so there is something off with the amount of volume the synth is getting or the pickups in my bridge saddles are sending or both. I turned the sensitivity down but it still makes these ghost notes and it should know if I play a note that's say -30 db loud as opposed to a string squeak that's -40 db or lower. I should be able to set a real threashold below which it doesn't trigger. Anyway... I have more things to worry about than this but thanks!!!!
