Trying to Save an Old Zero Turn Lawn Mower with a Newer Customized Engine.
Our family 1983 Bobcat Ransomes Zero Turn Lawn Mower ran perfect for 38 years until the engine finally gave out. We purchased another used opposing cylinder engine to replace it, installed it and ran it for almost 1 season and that engine blew up... (not a good used engine).
We were offered a free Briggs and Stratton 24 horse power Intek engine off of a riding lawn mower that had lots of problems. We were told the engine was good.
We decided to take the project on. In this video you will see what we did to overcome the obstacles to make this custom engine swap work... including a custom exhaust system fabrication, custom heat shield, and much more.
