Some of these guys have a crazy amount of knowledge and to be able to walk away from a project to do other calls and then come back to it and remember exactly where you left off is a true talent

Warren, regarding parts for the ZF transmission on the John Deere. Onelonelyfarmer (Wes Pandy) had a ZF transmission for 6210R rebuilt by a shop in Fleetown PA by the name of Burkholder Tractor Parts. He said in the video with the guys name is Michael Burkholder. They have access to all the ZF parts. They do full rebuild and have a test stand that they built. Wes has a video where he did a tour of their shop. If I recall I think they're Amish. Really sharp guy. A Google search will give you their contact information, otherwise reach out to Wes and I'm sure he'd get you in contact with them.
I never thought a job like this was this intense. Great job! I can't wait for when it's finished and you fire it up with everything working.

You can get away with a top suction and rear discharge, I think vickers makes a rear discharge pump with a top suction which would give you plenty of clearance on frame rails and such while with the size a pump would have to be to give you an inch and a half suction and one inch discharge both to the rear, it may not clear the frame rails. Call that pump guy back and ask for measurements on the pump so you know if it will fit or not, I hate to see you have to wait for yet again another pump. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news sir, I respect what you do, I’m just worried the pump may not fit as it doesn’t look as though you have much spare room between frame rail and trans/ Pto adapter.

Air to water charge air coolers are rated for a horsepower level typically. Find one for the horsepower of that engine and I would go something like the next size bigger to be safe.
@Romuls753
Жыл бұрын
I've seen some rated with both horsepower and CFM in mind, I'm not sure how honest it is because it's a no name website that claims their 14" fans can do 2,000 CFM at under 10 amps, when every other company I've ever looked at is closer to 25 amps and a 16" fan

I have used air to water intercoolers on many different diesel and gas applications. They are made by many different companies and you can also purchase bare cores and weld your own ends on them. I have used one on a n14 Cummins due to space and packaging constraints. I have used them on 500+ cubic inch turbo big block Chevy motors making 2000+ horsepower. I would not run engine coolant there an air to water intercooler. On automotive applications the air to water intercooler has it's own coolant circuit with it's own radiator, pump and coolant tank to provide the lowest intake air temperatures possible. It is pretty easy to size one to the application. You need to know what the maximum boost pressure is and what the maximum intake air temperatures the engine should see. Air flow wouldn't be an issue, I run Borg Warner S488 turbos into them all the time. The ones that I normally use are a box type and they are available with just about any inlet and outlet configuration.

Excellent video hydraulic pump mounting can be a real challenge especially when you are trying for direct coupler drive . I usually run a short heavy duty drive shaft between the transmission and pump so the transmission doesn't have to carry the weight and torque of the hydraulic pump that way the pump is solid to the frame. But I can see in your application that space is at a premium. Cummins make adapters to drive a hydraulic pump from the front of the crankshaft for the L10 M11 ISM size of engine. If the engine is not pulling a extremely heavy load you don't necessarily need a charge air cooler. Another option would be a split radiator charge air cooler like International used on lots of the DT 360 and DT 466 engines. Lots of the newer John Deere tractors like a 8120 use a split radiator charge air cooler.
