I think it is worth noting to adjust the equalizer to the setting for speakers under an inch in size. It makes such a huge difference in the range of the tiny speaker.

It can really help to use the equalizer to maximize your speaker's capabilities, but you are ultimately limited by the speaker.

Great how to video. Thank you for that. This is my first attempt at installing a DCC Sound System. Will I have to remove or relocate the current DCC component or does the Tsunami2 perform all the DCC functions along with adding sound? Would this new sound system need to be reprogrammed in my Digitrax Evolution System?
@SoundtraxxDCC

Tsunami2 will preform all of the DCC functions along with amazing sound and features! The decoder will work right after install, but you will probably want to customize the decoder to match your model by selecting a prime mover, airhorn, etc. You can also set up other features like Dynamic Digital Exhaust, momentum, reverb and many more as you like. Our Support Team can help you with all of this (so can our many KZitem videos): (970)259-0690 ext.22 or support@soundtraxx.com

Hello George, just to make sure, this decoder will fit a Kato EMD E5A N scale loco, same fitment process essentially for the E5A as per the F3A in this video?
@SoundtraxxDCC

Yes. It should, but speaker placement may vary. I have heard that you may still need to cut a bit to get the speaker in, but I have not personally done this install.

What type of flux do you use? Brand? liquid? Or paste?

Here’s the stuff George uses at home: www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/chip-quik-inc/SMD291NL/1160000 It’s about $12 per ‘syringe’ The stuff we have at SoundTraxx is Alpha OM-338. You can search online but because it’s an industrial use flux, most of the links want you to contact them for quotes.

Which speaker enclosure do I use? My decoder came with six different sizes... (edit: 2 F2's and an E5)
@SoundtraxxDCC

For this model, the one we used was the one with the little notch that fits into the frame. The different enclosures will help you install in different models.

Nice installation very close to a regular no sound DCC installation . I tought you had to dig the frame for the sugar cube but it is a lot easier this way . Any possible setting to add a doppler effect to the horn , or is there other horns than this one ? Thanks !
@SoundtraxxDCC
3 жыл бұрын
We do not have a doppler effect. You can add reverb or echo to any of our sound effects though and you have over 40 airhorns to choose from. You can see a list of them on our Sound Selection Reference on our website: soundtraxx.com/tsu-kn1/
