Thank you for the explanation of how play/run these hinderances. This was helpful.

Phobia: Insects got me killed in a one-shot con game. We were surrounded by giant ants, so I backed into a corner while everyone else fled out the front door. It was awesome! And I'm so very glad you shouted out Quirk first. Well-played Quirks make characters memorable.

That sounds amazing. I hope you got a benny for that!

@@ASavageWorldsGM the GM offered me two Bennies if I gave a great description of my death. (Replacement PCs were waiting in cryo stasis.) But that description may violate YT's standards, or a copyright provision. Really.

I was running a 1930s pulp treasure hunting adventure and one player took ruthless. So the heroes got into a fist fight at a bar, the player with ruthless wanted to shoot each unconscious bar patron in the head. I had to explain to him that using that hinderance wasn't keeping with the tone of the campaign. He was so put out by not being able to murder hobo he left the table.

Phobias. Like in the Indiana Jones movies. "Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?"

Also, along those lines, the GM should probably know the hinderances and provide ways for them to be played out.
