Joey Dunlop a road racing legend , with a heart that cared to make a difference to others in need , off the track he got supplies and filled a wagon and took it Europe where he give it likes of orphanages , not for the press ,not to boost his ego to others, just cause he cared not to let suffering go on without making a difference, absolute legend .

@@JMAC-rs6ey a hero to a lot of people , just like yourself with that brave win after the loss . Think I cried quite a bit that day of that win as am sure thousands also did too . Dunlop’s epic legends of road racing who’s names will never be forgotten in time .

Joey, and all the other guys who died, still sad to think about it. Watching them as kids coming down the Coleraine Rosd like hell. Also to Dr John Hinds who tragically lost his life doing what he loved. All heroes and never to be forgotten, real men.

I hope John McGinness reflects on his own words about the law averages when talking about Joey Dunlop. Retiring a year early is better than one race too many for his fans.

hes an old mechanic. Worked on his bikes at night while fixing cars in the day. Had his own van..Lived the racer life. He got a little sponsorship, but because he was manager, mechanic and racer he could streach his money more, to get better parts. Rinse and repeat. I think the allurer is from hard work, gift of speed reactions, intellect and tenacity.......all while being a bit cheeky. dare I say....Sharpe ? Values everyone loves. 🙂

Wow, only 513 likes for the greatest sporting event in the world. Weird. Where's everybody else? Probably off watching football or some other thing. On a side note, I think Guinness should make a special edition pint and call it the "John Mc-Guinness". :)

John McGuinness john mcguinness its always john mcguinness like marsha marsha marsha ...and by the power of the gods of speed may you live long and prosper great guru of the art of two wheel domination Mr. John McGuinness ...and just between all others and me who would have guessed john and guy would of ever become a successful race team ..as john the lone wolf silently stalking the competition and guy the pony express rider flying into town yelling out the latest front page news ..and they are friends who seem to actually get along , amazing! And to hell with the torpedos john full steam and Norton speed and would be nice to see another scorching run down electric avenue Mugen style

A whole different breed of rider.. Balls of steel courageous. Some would call it braindead.. Me personally I cannot fathom out the attraction to try to ride a machine that would require the nanosecond timing associated with something normally only a robot or computer would be capable of.. I have never understood the thrill of the need for speed at this level similar to formula1 or flying plane, jet of rocket.. Even more confusing to my way of thinking when it occurs in such a detrimental and dangerous environment.. It might be a death wish cloaked in leathers? To each their own and if they enjoy doing it best of luck to them.. People must want to watch for the race and or the crash? 10:46 did he fart? I know ever time I used wear a one piece while riding and fart... for a split second I would think I hope it isn't a wet one and or I followed through? It can interrupt your concentration for a moment.. Maybe they have to watch their diet and avoid gassy food before the race like definitely no Mexican beans or fizzy drinks?

Jump out of a plane?!?!? thats nothing we only go 120mph if it all goes wrong. With 3000 jumps id be scared witless to do a track course at 1/4 speed. Street course? pfft...id rather hang on to the skid of a helicopter flying at tree top level. Safer. These guys have balls of steel. no man hole covers in the sky.
