The HM7000 looks to beat the Lionel Lionchief App which im extremely familiar with. Just browsing the HM7000 app the possibilities are amazing. Now one thing that does disappoint is the lack of lighting on Hornby products. The locomotives should most assuredly come bare minimumaly with headlighting. The lighting in the interior of the Pullman coaches on the Scotsman set was to me a game changer. That, and my love for that class locomotive. As always thanks so much for your efforts and videos!

Love the illuminating lamps.. when I get bored making up head codes (moving lamps about) I might just have to do this as well! Agree with you, Hornby could really do some amazing stuff with a bit of joined up thinking 👍

I’m not Hornby bashing, as I do appreciate when this new gauge got the green light, cost etc was always going to be compromising factor. I just hope they realise they really could take this scale to the next level (when they can afford to)

@@PeachyTT120 fully agree, It’s almost as if so much good stuff has happened at Hornby all at once they haven’t mapped out how it can develop. I see an opportunity with TT:120 for a fully loaded range on top of existing product. Specified and priced like the top European TT:120 models. Cheaper is rarely better

That's fairly clever stuff there, not a lot of room to swing about with! Gutted my TXs decoder failed, I've no need or interest in Bluetooth control as I've had wireless control for years. As you know my decoder locked it's self to Bluetooth making it useless - I promised to re visit the range at a later date and I will, just gonna give Hornby a little more time for ironing...

Yeah that’s a reasonable approach, it’s understandable that people might want cheap/perfect/immediately but that’s just not practical. I’m hoping Hornby really do crack on with developing this range and we certainly need more than Pacifics & 08’s to play with.

Nice. The stopwatch section is a bit like watching paint dry lol😂. Were you really having cutout issues with the Pacifics? I thought all those pickups would eliminate that

Yeah I was in two minds about keeping that in, but I didn’t want anyone suggesting I’d done some tricky editing. The problem I was having was mainly keeping connectivity with the Bluetooth. The very tiniest break in contact would mean my locos would sit dead for ages.

Worried about the loss of weight in the tender as this is a big aid to pickup on a small loco. I would certainly look to replacing the weight if it has in fact been removed with lead as you intimated. The other acid test of the stay alive is how long it lasts with no track power. This perhaps could be tested on a on a rolling road unplugged with your stop watch would have been very interesting, I would suspect 20-30 seconds. More than enough to get over some unclean track or hornby dead frogs. I did a double take on your Pullman Cars, there are 3 that I do not have Cecilia, Chloria and 64 . I guess these came from your Flying Scotsman set? Finally Pluto is Plato! Watching your vid highlights another irritating thing about the HM7000 decoder, 2 chuffs to the wheel revolution, with 3 a cylinder loco it should be 6 , same for the A4. I was given a load of bull at Warley Shown by someone who should know better that the HM7000 chips are not designed for this. If so then it is a big mistake and means that my HM7000 days are over, I will be looking for replacement chips that can do the bizzo. You do not need a Chuff Cam Trigger for this, though it does make things better. I wonder if your marvel DCC pal has any thoughts on this?

Hello John, you raise an interesting question regarding the tender weight, so I popped out to the workshop to weigh them. An unmolested A4 tender came in at 42g whilst the converted version is a tiny bit lighter at 39g. This however has not caused me any running issues. Stay alive test results; Bluetooth connectivity + tick over soundtrack = 117 seconds BT con + Sound + lights = 56 seconds BT con + Snd + Lgts + motor running = 38 seconds Yes, the 3 extra Pullmans are the bodies from the Scotsman set put on 3 chassis with lights. The sound miss match is as you say not quite spot on yet, here’s hoping this is something they’ll address in the future.

@@PeachyTT120 Thanks as ever for your considered reply, this really does help. There is a spare unused CV in the HM7000 chip, I hope that they can think about using this in an upgrade for better beats to the revolution.

Hello PeachyTT120 1. Thank you for the many beautiful videos 2. Where can I get the lamps and firebox flicker for the Flying Scotsman TT 120? 3. How did you get the HM 7070 power bank into the tender? According to Hornby, the power bank is too big for TT. Thanks in advance from Switzerland for your replies.
