Hey fellow Audi S3 Fanatic fans! Thanks for dropping by and checking out another Audi S3 Fanatic DIY guide!
Today, I present you, a DIY to help you retrofit a MK2 TT-RS (2012-2013) front brake setup into an 8V S3. There are several mainstream BBKs on the market. However, with the cost running between $3K-$5k, not everyone can afford such luxury. By using the TT-RS calipers and rotors, you’re able to have a near 100% PnP (plug and play) fitment while saving some serious coin! The one caveat though, you’ll need 19” wheels to clear the brakes. This is a small price to pay for such a tremendous uptick in braking performance.
The TT-RS setup is a massive upgrade from the OEM S3 front brake setup. You’re moving from a single piston caliper, to the Brembo made 4 piston TT-RS caliper. In addition, you’re upsizing from a single 340x30mm rotor to a two-piece 370x32mm setup.
Even though my DIY is a retrofit project, you should be able to use this video as a guide to help you change our your S3’s rotor and brake pads.
