It is so beautiful you could cry a lake. It is so moving you get the shivers. The voice is so soft it feels like an angel's The song is so peaceful you feel like you're in a different world than to the others above. It is so lovely you feel like you're in the scene, with soft grass under your feet. The instrumental is so delicate it feels heavenly. The voice echoes as if it is in a deep, deep cave, filled with Happiness, Joy and Love. - Peace be with Greensleeves

it is generally attributed to being written by Henry VIII about his love Anne Boleyn. It was green sleeves because Anne supposedly always wore the French fashion of bell sleeves and the Tudor colours were green and white; thus, greensleeves. Of course no one knows if this is true ;)

I have been ready at your hand To grant whatever thou would'st crave; I have waged both life and land Your love and goodwill for to have. Greensleeves was my delight, Greensleeves my heart of gold Greensleeves was my heart of joy And who but my lady Greensleeves. Thy petticoat of sendle white With gold embroidered gorgeously; Thy petticoat of silk and white And these I bought gladly. Appleholic1 I agree. It's somewhat ironic that the first line is "Alas my love you do me wrong, to cast me off discourteously", which is exactly what Henry did to his loving and faithful wife. Apparently the style of music didn't come to England, so there's a good chance Henry didn't write it. Though I have to say, I do still like the romanic myth surrounding it.

@ItsIssay Yes, two bands can have the same name. There are at least two bands named "The Heights" that I know, and also "X" is an American band and there is also a famous Japanese band named "X". But when "X" decided to debut in America, they had to rename themselves as "X Japan" because there was already a band called "X". So yes, there can be bands with the same name.

Wonderful piece of music. This is one of the most beautiful interpretation I've ever heard. Although I already knew this ensemble (and I can confirm that it's composed of italian artists, since I saw the little miff below), I did a bit of research: one can find this record in the Túatha dé Dananns' CD entitled "Aisling". Here we can admire Laura Gallo's warm, dense voice, together with the modal accompaniment of Enrico Euron at the harp.

Hmm... no! The song title is "Greensleeves" and the band's name is "Tuatha De Danann." I know that there is a Brazilian band called Tuatha De Danann, I also listen to them I like them too, but the song I uploaded on KZitem is played by an Italian group, also called Tuatha De Danann. There are quite few bands having the same name, it's not just one isolated case and I cannot help it. THESE ARE THE ITALIAN TUATHA.

@TheVolturiDemetri: It's actually not the accent I'm talking about. You can't expect a non-native speaker to have the right accent. Very few do. Do you? I don't. What I mean is that she sounds like someone who just had 5 hours concert and can't take any more and is loosing her voice and in 20 minutes will be without a voice at all, just whispering.

When I hear "Greensleeves" I see an old medieval castle or an old mansion, a river floating by closeby, blooming meadows with bright buttercups and dandelions competeting with the sun, old high trees where birds build their nests, walking though the meadows in a long gown and sitting down at the river, the noise of the purling inspiring me to write poetry or just to lay back in the high gras and watch the clouds move by fast and birds being carried through the air by a light warm breeze. *sigh*
