Been loving the videos of this bike build, have one myself, and getting a 2x11 Groupset, carbon fork, carbon pedals, and dual piston mechanical brakes. Awesome videos!

Drew, Why carbon pedals? Do you think saving 100 grams is better than the strength you get with Aluminum?

I just bought this ozark gravel bike two days ago, I got the medium size bike 50cm, and I already put my better cranks on it and making it a 1 by with a BCD104 34T chainring.

I recently went tubeless on my Ozark trail ridge and I found it makes is 10 times easier if you take a ratchet strap and tighten it around your wheel to push the bead towards the rim.

Yes. I’ve used that trick in the past too. Some tires just don’t want to set 😊

@@MASHLEY69 if they don't set on their own, I just give up and go right to the ratchet straps.

After though is you can also seat your bead using a co2 inflator after removing the core. Done this many times before I had a compressor.

Yep that could work in a pinch. I'd go broke buy CO2 with some of these tires lol Great tip :-) thanks for commenting, appreciate ya

@@achonjoel these jg bike wheels are very budget friendly around $200 for front and rear. I’ve had them for a few years on various builds. Love them for the price.

So are you using the stock wheels in this video? So I guess my question is are the stock wheels tubeless ready?
@MASHLEY69

I am not using the stock wheels. They are not rated as tubeless ready.
@MASHLEY69

You can attempt to tape the stocks and you might have success, however I can’t say for sure. You will need tubeless ready tires at a minimum to make it work.

They are not listed as tubeless. The rims can probably be setup tubeless, but the tires definitely not. I’ve successfully setup non tubeless rims before, but it’s a gamble and will not always work.

I was with you on the dry-fitting of the tyre, but that nozzle you were using for inflation with the compressor was not good. You could have cut your time and effort in half with a proper air chuck. If all your bikes are tubeless, it would be a good purchase.

You can try … I’ve done stock wheels that weren’t rated as tubeless compatible and have not had issues. You’ll definitely want a tubeless tire though.

I’m hoping to go up to 45 when these wear out. That’s the biggest I’ve ever ran on a bike like this and it’s been close in the past. So can’t say for sure if 50 would work. I guess it would depend on the tire?

It seems like a lot of trouble and money has gone into this bike to make it ride worthy. Rate it as an investment. I don't see the upside.

Having watched a lot of reviewer input, it seems that the overall sentiment is that the frame is a great platform for upgrading as you need to. If you swap all the components out you still end up spending less than other bikes on the market with similar components.

@@leeboat at the price point, I think you get parts that work until you upgrade. Nothing wrong with having low end spare parts to replace broken gear on your rig or other people's rigs.
