"You thought I looked like some kind of freak?" "We misjudged you Dale. I'm... I'm really sorry." "Don't be sorry, it's my fault. I should have known if a guy like me talked to a girl like you, somebody would end up dead." I love this movie so much! I think this movie has a lot more to say than Cabin In The Woods (2012) does. I love both movies equally, but this movie also teaches us not to judge a book by the cover and communication is key to clear up any misunderstanding. Fun Fact: Towards the end of the movie, when Tucker (Alan Tudyk) & Dale are reminiscing about catching frogs at the creek, Dale mentions that he used to lick them. Tyler Labine actually did lick a Toad in a small role he had on Quagmire (1996) 14 years prior. Evil Tucker And Dale Fact: A special feature on the DVD plays the movie from the college kids' perspective, in which Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) are murderous villains. Creative Choices Fact: Alan Tudyk came up with the idea to pour beer on his face to treat Tucker's bee stings. Tyler Labine chose the "GIV'ER" hat to wear as Dale for two reasons. First, it looks like the word "GIVER" alluding to his kind and generous nature. Second, it is the Canadian equivalent of "Git 'er Done" redneck phrase popularized by Larry The Cable Guy.

Indeed. I love Cabin In The Woods (2012), but nothing can be learned in that movie and (unlike this movie) has no moral lesson. I have to tell people that it has a Moral Dilemma, which is a completely different thing. Go in Peace and Walk with God. 😎 👍

It also has some great (and somewhat brief) commentary on classism, like when Dale mentions being nervous about approaching the college kids at first at the gas station, mentioning that guys like him and Tucker are normally expected to clean the toilets for people like the college kids. I've heard that some people look down on Appalachian people and assume they're poor/uneducated/an inbred villain from the Wrong Turn/Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, which is sadly a common thing - and this movie has a subtle theme that calls out that harmful classist mindset since everything spirals out of control because the college kids (minus Alison) never bother to communicate with Tucker and Dale directly - and are already prejudiced against them (especially Brad, of course).

One of my absolute favorites. If you haven't seen it, the guy who plays Chad has a supporting role in the movie Ginger Snaps, which is a wonderful horror movie that I highly recommend. Addendum: They're eggs. That are pickled. Just like pickles, but with eggs. They're pretty good overall, but I have to be in the mood for pickled eggs to have them. Yes, Giv'er (I think that's how it was written) is basically like the Canadian version of Git 'er done. It's also Tyler Labine's personal hat, if I remember correctly.

The Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman sound effect sent me. Especially the second time. Also Stockholm Syndrome was kiiiinda made up to pathologize hostage situation survivors who were critical of authorities' handling of the 1973 bank robbery in the titular city that they survived. It's a pretty interesting rabbit hole to dive down. Also also! Those foot spike/blade thingies look like the kind of "crampons" that you'll see loggers and telephone line workers use to climb trees/poles. "Crampon" is an ice climbing term so they're probably not called that.

Yes, Trent in the F13 remake is horrible but... BUT... he's played by Travis Scott Van Winkle, who also played a jock named Trent in the 2007 Transformers movie. Both characters are basically the same person. Both movies were produced by Michael Bay. There is a very high chance that they are supposed to be the same person.
