It was over an hour long. Tucker had every opportunity to say whatever he wanted. Adam wasn't cutting him off or anything. Adam's just long-winded. It was an interesting conversation but, yeah, on a normal show where you've got the guest for seven minutes and you've been hyping them all week you couldn't pull what Adam just pulled. But I enjoyed it.

Not that anyone cares but I grew up on the south side of Chicago listening to Adam and Mad Cow, he definitely has grown into a more relevant talk show host. I grew up with three siblings and my father had a full time job, often working weekends, and my mother worked several jobs, house keeper, care taker for elderly and disabled, etc. We where by no means well off, and actually saw our parents struggle to make ends meat. This was in the 70's-90's. I remember mystery can nights, cans sold at the grocery store without labels for like 5 cents. This taught me many things in my life, always work hard, be grateful for what you have, and nothing comes FREE! I am white and was never handed a silver spoon and never given privilege for my color. My parents spent as much time as they could with us and we are better for it. My life is a great example of how Awesome Capitalism is, you get what you put in. We need to seriously go back to these days without divide, or gender rules, or political correctness, I miss those no seat belt jumping around the back seat days. My thoughts anyways.

Fox always came across genuine to me for a very simple reason.... They have always taken jabs at themselves, made fun of themselves in other programs on the network... Fox may reflect more of my views but they are just as guilty of not telling the whole truth because they omit so much and harp on the same issues. Also, the information that scrolls across the bottom always looks to me like it came straight off of CNN. It's clearly intended to sway you to left leaning thinking, which is weird and contradicts what fox delivers.

I agree that we live and learn by our mistakes, but listening to some wise advice can short cut a lot of pain. Some people enjoy their painful lives because of the drama and victimhood that goes with an unexamined life. Its funny to hear how Adam Corolla insists he was not influenced by anything and formed only his own personal opinions, perhaps he was deaf. Tucker Carlson laughs and agrees with him that they both grew up in the same situation but that he is a Liberal which is a learned attitude. Ditto says Mr. Corolla. The Constitution teaches people to think and behave in certain ways. Mr. Corolla admits he caters to the Left though and that probably explains the pandering atmosphere. I have watched Tucker demolish the nonsense (to us) on the Left, and yes it sounds very fair to say that these people genuinely believe what they say but he leaves out the fact that, for example, the vegan is probably a rabid activist who spends our money (Welfare payments) and most of his life fanatically trying to stop our farming, our growing meat animals as we have been doing for nigh on 10,000,000 years of experience and adaption. I always enjoy Tucker's intelligent grasp on life. He doesn't sit on the fence very often.

Now that I'm starting to hear more political voices, one thing is clear: we all massively underestimate or belittle people on "the other side." Joe Rogan doesn't get into arguments with reasonable people, he has discussions. Tucker would have a great time. I loved Bernie for a long time due to the empathy aspect. But I had been misled in my political philosophy, and I was still supporting him when Rogan said he did. We , formerly of the Left, are waking up, and if you think you are a fully awakened being, you are in a dream.
@stewpittt
4 жыл бұрын
I’m glad you’re waking up my friend, I think we all need to due to the fact that our government really is not our friend. Love him or hate him, Trump really has tried to make a difference in a lot of ways and he’s been fighting for every bit of ground, because everyone knows that he is uncovering all their demons. And believe me, I have my share of issues with the GOP for sure but nowhere near like I do the Democrats and left, Of which the left has gotten so far left, the Democrats are almost unrecognizable. Go back 15 to 20 years and the Democrats would probably be considered Republican today.
@realmadrid314
4 жыл бұрын
@@stewpittt When I was reminded of how recently the phrase "women and minorities" was acceptable to say about progress, I was shocked by how far the Left had moved. A progressive term back then is a slur now. I realized today at work that the things I hated the most about Conservatives were the things I envied the most. I hated that they made me work for things. I hated that they had pride in their country. I hated their religious nature. I hated the "bigotry," despite some of the deep philosophical questions it raised. I hated guns. But then I was in a position where I had to work or whither. So I worked. And my god do I hate the whining I did before. I thought work was just something extra that rich people made us slave away at, until I imagined living on my own in an unknown land. The amount of stress that suddenly falls on you is tremendous. So it seems that we are building a society with too much of an aim for comfort. We are like weightlifters who never try to beat the other, so we just stay at 100 pounds. When the world drops 300 pounds on our shoulders, we instantly buckle. We have to focus on training ourselves to lift as much as we can, because WHEN the world drops its weight on you, you better hope you can not only bare it, but lift it and make the world from it.

Growing up in Seattle, in the 70s and 80s, every time we’d see a California license plate, we would make a noise of some sort; a disapproving noise. My friend, in college with me in Minnesota, was from Portland, we were in a car driving in the twin cities together, and we saw a California license plate, and both made the same disapproving noise. So, they, apparently learned to make the same noise we did. It was universally despised, in the northwest, when Californians would move the the northwest. Now, this is no longer a “thing” of course, but the same thing that happened to California is happening to Seattle and Portland. It’s really, really sad. Really shocking, and heartbreaking. I worked in the heart of the homeless population in Seattle and I learned, simply from being with them, every single day, from 6:00 am every day, that the genuinely homeless population, go to particular shelters, and those shelters frisk for weapons before they allow anyone in. You see them every morning, lining up. You rarely see the same person twice. They never harass you as you walk past, they look serious and purposeful. The other shelters, that do jot frisk for weapons, are quite different. The same people loiter around these shelters every day or every other day, harassed me regularly, as a 23 year old woman, and were almost always intoxicated. Many of them were aggressive toward me, with no provocation. For years. These were the criminals. Some were simply addicts, and occasionally a clearly mentally ill person, untreated. I hate depression. I had to seek my own sources of help, with not support from friends or family of any kind, which is why it took a while to recognize exactly what I was dealing with. I also had moderate attention deficit disorder, which for some of us, is actually quite life altering, and it took another 10 years to find relief from this. I did what I had to do to take responsibility for my own mental health, and somehow, pushed through most of my life, grinding, struggling, working twice as hard as my friends, to achieve the same result. The medication saved my life. But I suffered a lot of needless pain, when medication, in my case, could have and would have made all the difference in the world. But I don’t lament this, and I fought through every day, against some tough odds myself. So, truly homeless people are much like I was, in this respect. They are fighting every day, to get out of a tough situation to reach a better one. It was evident who the actual homeless people were, versus the criminals, the addicts who weren’t seeking to better their situation, no matter how many tries it took, but were instead harassing young women like me, getting trashed all day, and others who weren’t taking their meds. It is a choice. I really is.

Men yearn to be useful, more than anything else that's what we want. Building stuff with your hands is some of the most tangible forms of use manifested through effort. It's like crack to us. Not crazy to think men who've been lacking their physical, tangible creations seek highfalutin goals to scratch that itch.

My father worked in drywall all his life in Alabama. Never worked with a black man but in the last 5 years of him working he saw countless jobs being over taken by hispanic(mainly Mexican) workers. I mean he would literally be at a job site on Monday and by Tuesday the foreman fired the entire crew for a new hispanic crew. Even the dairy farms have been replaced. The worst part about being a poor white person in the south is watching these hispanic families drive from church to church on “food days” and asking for money, clothing and free food for their families and driving away in their Escalades or BMWs. The wife’s job is to go to different churches everyday in a different city or county to get free services. Walk into the county DHR (which is where you get welfare, WIC, and food stamps) and you will see nothing but hispanic families with newly born “American” babies. At one point I lost my job and wanted to sign up for just a few weeks until I could find another job because I thought that was how it was supposed to be used and was told I “didn’t qualify because you have a high likely hood of finding work.” I didn’t grow up with my father in Alabama but moved their as an adult. I always thought the “they’ll take our jobs” was a joke and a ridiculous argument because of what I saw from the media growing up. Until my father actually showed me and everyone in the poor neighborhood I lived in proved it to me everyday. Construction and labor work is all these poor white men in the south have. Some that’s all they want. To put in a hard days work, be able to support their family, and come home to a cold beer and their family. They want to go to church on Sunday, watch the college football game on Saturday, and do it all over again. Then that gets taken away and they have nothing. So, they turn to opiates because they get hurt at work and can’t afford to take a day off. Then they get to where they can’t work without them. The fathers have them around the house and then their teen kids get into them and hooked too. Or, because they can no longer support their family with just work that they have to sell their prescriptions just to pay the electric bill. That’s why they use to call opiates “hillbilly heroin” because the poor, white, “trailer park” blue collar people were the ones most affected by it. White men are losing their jobs, their purpose, their families, their self confidence, and then are being told by elites in LA and NY that they are privileged, they are racist, they are scum. They are being told they are somehow oppressing when they can’t even support their family. Then they have to go to food banks and churches to beg for help while getting turned away to the hispanic family who has wads of hundreds in their pocket and nicer cars than they ever dreamed of. Take away a man’s purpose in life and you’re asking for war. Want to make someone racist? Have that person be told they are trash for their skin color while they watch another race replace them in every aspect of their life. Tell them they are powerful when they have to decide between toothpaste and milk. Have Hollywood elites tell them they are the enemy from their mansions.

Adam makes a key point: Physical work is deeply embedded in our development as humans and is why our brains are as big as they are. I think it's possible that we obsess over our phones and smoke cigarettes in an effort to address our deep-seated yearning to work with our hands. It is wrongheaded to denigrate manual labor as is fashionable today. It's also interesting that as we become increasingly more digital, anything handmade becomes increasingly precious. I recently read that gardening also has many of the beneficial effects of carpentry, mechanical work, etc. Handwriting is also a wonderfully tactile experience, along with typing on a manual typewriter. Adam observed that guys on his work crew were generally in a decent mood and basically well-adjusted. Experts in the field would say that this is because they have purpose and can look at their results at the end of each day of physical exertion. "A man who works with his hands is a laborer. A man who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. A man who works with his hands, his head and his soul is an artist". St Francis of Assisi.
