Tuckers luck can be depressing to watch at times, but I was around 9 at the time these were aired and now at 42, I really miss the 80s and 90s, things were hard but seemed more simple. At least I got to grown up in a time where technology didn’t seem to rule everything, them days are long gone🙁. That’s why my favourite tv is from the 70s 80s and early 90s.

Nicely put!! :) I was born in the late 80's and grew up in the 90's. I miss the 90's! Technology HAS changed EVERYTHING! No one really talks anymore, I was talking to someone the other day and they didn't reply because they were to busy looking at their phone!

Mark Richardson Yes at the time there was no work or any real chances to get on in life. A very bad time for being a school leaver. So with that in the back ground of these episodes it was a depressing time to be a young adult.

In some weird way the depressed sense this gives me is why I have this deep contemplative nostalgia when I watch this. I grew up during this time, I was maybe 12 when this was on, and what I see here was all around me. No work. A society that seemed "stuck". "Everyone" on the dole. The young that finished school and went right from the school house to the dole house, and the games and underground things they had to do to get some cash in hand to supplement what their unemployment money couldn't give them. And the unemployment money was way below what made it possible to live in any sense.. more like baseline survive with frequent episodes of harsh deprivation. My family was fortunate to be able to emigrate. It changed the destiny that was surely waiting for us back in Thatcher's Britain. But like this series demonstrates, while going through this hardship, along the way you had really great mates that were sharing the journey. For how hard and depressed these times were, to this day I miss it solely for the friends and the camaraderie. These days of the 1980's saw me with the truest friends and deepest connected relationships that I can say I've experienced. I still have those friends to this day.

Actually, I knew computers deserved to be much better - and I deserved to operate them. But I was never allowed to use 1980s computers at school or in an office. Unlike today . . .

I left school in 1989, 5 years after this was filmed. In 1989 there were jobs for everybody. You chose what you wanted to do and if you didn't like it you went to the job centre and jot another one. It really was as easy as that. The YTS was a good thing. People slagged it of but If you were willing to work for a low wage, go to collage and learn something the opportunity was there for everybody.

Tucker found some luck in the end great show thanks for uploading all three series though series two was the best in my opinion but all three showed the 1980s perfectly in my opinion..

Why didn't Creamy get a keyboard instead? Much easier to transport, and after all, 84 was the age of the synthesizer.

From 23:40 to 24:00 Tommy is supposed to be angry but you can see him giggling. I am surprised it wasn't cut.

It's bittersweet watching this..I'm really glad it's here. I remember I left school around when this was made and it was kind of scary, with me being lost. I wonder what happened to the people who played Susan and Ade

That's why we didn't see Tucker back in Grange Hill...pity he didn't go back there, as like it would have been interesting. Since GH merged with Brookdale at this point and would have been seeing an improvement on Roly....while the school went into chaos. The Fire, Bronson, Imelda, the new teachers, new students. I am not sure how far he would have gotten at old GH, but I am sure, he, zammo, Ant, Jiggy would have gotten on well, with interesting storylines. He is the voice of reason and probably would have changed the course of history.

what a terrible follow up series this was, compared to the first. YES! that time could be depressing and full off broken dreams... ...but bringing in new characters who were bland like "Creamy"? a wasted opportunity to explorer homelessness in Thatcher's Britain. should've been more original cast members included.

I disagree. Series 2 was the best of the three. Tucker's Luck was a kind of junior version of Going Out, which was post-watershed and, as far as I recall, tackled these subjects a bit more deeply. All three series of Tucker's Luck were good and capture the era pretty well - optimism and pessimism. I left school in 1981 so it really spoke to me.

The teacher asks Tucker why he didn't speak out, probably cos of prats like the one at 11:49. Had to deal with a few of those in my time.

Tucker’s Luck 🍀 happened is series 1 to 3 from 1983 to 1985 is 3 separate years and Grange Hill happened is series 1 to 31 from 1978 to 2008 is 31 separate years. Staff like 👍 Mr Baxter, Mrs McCluskey, Mr Smart, Mr McGuffey and other staff wouldn’t be in Tucker’s Luck 🍀 because they are at Grange Hill school 🏫. It is an old yellow Jaguar 🐆 car 🚙. Tucker Jenkins has a talk with the teacher 👨🏫 in the classroom. Tucker Jenkins looks nice 👌 in his smart clothes. It’s a nice 👌 old yellow Fiat van 🚐 . In 1984 I was aged 7 to 8 years old. Now I am aged 47 years old in 2023. Today’s date is Sunday 12th March 2023. It is a nice 👌 sunny 🌞 weather. 😃👍

god knows whats in their future, i really hope it all works out for tucker at college, and with no qualifications, and no great plan, although showing willing, he`s lucky he`s apparently going to get in, and can you say sexual tension between susan and creamy, i do see her point, he has being blowing a bit hot and cold with her, i can only imagine him leaving is a result of this, and who can stand anymore of tommys moaning, although i really badly want to watch series three, and find out what happens to them next especially tucker, when i realise that i`m getting towards the end of this amazing series, let alone the last episode, and cannot watch anymore, it will be a great shame, i do really think getting a glimpse into these peoples lifes, is something that i will miss, i dont know what the viewers thought at the time, but i`m disappointed that they only made one more series, and not a great deal more.
