The announcer - a very familiar face and most distinctive voice on Ulster Television from the late-1970s until the end of 1983 - was Keith Hayes.

'Bedtime' was a 10-15 minute local offering including regional news, a weather forecast, community info, what's on, and perhaps some music accompanying photos: sometimes from viewers, often by UTV's resident photographer Kenneth McNally. 'Bedtime' started as a final programme later in the 1970s on weeknights, and was then extended to Saturday and Sunday nights in Autumn 1980 - coincidentally just as the franchise was coming-up for renewal - and then soon dropped for 'News at Bedtime' seven nights a week after the franchise had been successfully renewed: again, quite coincidentally I'm sure.

PS: The first piece of music that Keith Hayes voices-over was the theme music for the second series of 'Young Ramsay' - an Australian TV series about a rural wet, with well-known Aussie actor John Hargreaves in the title role. It perhaps laid the ground for the not-dissimilar 'A Country Practice' in 1980s.

Very odd decision to go into detail about the film on the script, immediately before the promo for said film - a simple "more about that in a moment" would have been a lot less disjointed. Or, assuming the promo wasn't networked, run it first and do the menu afterward, perhaps with a short additional IVC piece to introduce the trail?

The film promo will have been incoming from the network. The v/o is ATV's Kevin Morrison, suggesting that it was due to be networked the next night from ATV Presentation in Birmingham.
