#Turkey #Izmir #Alacati #Cesme
Turkey is one of the most popular tourism destinations. But most people associate this country more with Asia than Europe.
In this video I want to show the most European region of Turkey (in my opinion) - these are Izmir, Alacati and Cesme.
Izmir in Turkey is a 3-4 million metropolis. I was as surprised as possible to learn this information!
Why are they the most European? Because more open people live here, everyone wears European clothes on the streets, foreign music is played from cafes more often than Turkish, they vote mainly for pro-European parties, and in the end, the largest beer factory in Turkey is also located here. , and we all know the attitude of Muslims to alcohol.
This happens precisely in this region, because until the beginning of the 20th century it was mainly inhabited by Greeks, they built buildings, society, culture here in their usual way,
What to see in Izmir?
In Izmir (or as they used to say Smyrna), I will show the Clock Tower (the place that I liked the most), the Asansior elevator (I love when you can climb the mountain, but not go) and the Kadifikale castle (the best viewpoint in Izmir).
But there are no beaches in Izmir, as there is a port and industry. And what is a trip to Turkey without beaches?
Therefore, I will show you the towns of Alacati and Cesme, which hit me right in my heart !!
Firstly, both in Alacati and in Cesme there is the purest Aegean Sea (we especially liked the Ilıca beach in Alacati).
Secondly, in Alacati you can go windsurfing or kitesurfing - and this is one of the best places not only in Turkey, but throughout the Mediterranean.
Thirdly, these are very flourishing cities. The streets are simply buried in olives, lemons, limes and what else grows near the sea in Turkey?)
Fourth, Greek architecture remained in these towns (unlike Izmir, there was a big fire there at the beginning of the 20th century, almost the entire center burned down). The history in Alacati is visible on every corner in the literal sense :)
Fifth, there are a couple of other attractions in these towns - windmills in Alacati, a fortress in Cesme.
And in Cesme there is another highlight - 12 km. from it is already the Greek island of Chios, and it is the 10th largest island in the Mediterranean.
We loved these places. We felt that we were in Greek villages. And it was not in vain that even Oryol and Reshka in Izmir went to Alacati on the second day.
If mainly foreign tourists go to Antalya or Kemer, then Turks themselves go to Alacati and Cesme to rest. And they know exactly where to go to rest in Turkey).
Alacati in Turkey is a bohemian resort for the local elite. Real estate in this town is very expensive!
What to see in Alacati?
Windmills, old town, Ilidza beach, Chark beach.
What to see in Cesme?
Cesme fortress, embankment, old town, on the island of Chios.
In addition, I will tell you about the "signature" dish from this region - kumryu (Turkish hamburger).
It is better to go to Alacati and Cesme not on a tour, but on your own. Save money and know exactly which hotel room you will be accommodated in. I left the links above!
I am sure that in the video I was able to convey the atmosphere of this region of Turkey. Hope you enjoy it! The best gratitude is to like and subscribe.
In addition to what I have shown, it is worth going to the terminal springs of Cesme.
My perfect trip:
Izmir - 1 day;
Cesme - 1 day;
Alacati - 3 days.
Moreover, there will be new issues in the near future.
