Koshma is a felt carpet made of sheep or camel hair.
Koshma are developed and widely used in everyday life of the people engaged in cattle breeding: Kazakhs, Kirghiz, Turkmens, Karakalpaks, Afghans, Kurds, etc.
Koshma are simple (mainly used to cover the yurts) and ornamented - shirdak. The latter is made by rolling the dyed wool in the main background of the cat, stitching colored pieces, applique, patterned stitch or embroidery on the cat (such are used for interior decoration of the home).
