Alan Wilson speaks to Kevin Turley about the life and faith of his son, Joe Wilson, who died aged 17 from a rare undiagnosed heart condition. Filmed at Carfin Grotto, the national Marian shrine in Scotland where Joe would spend many hours alone and with his family, this programme reveals the unusually strong faith in one so young.
Joe's devotion to St Therese of Lisieux runs as a thread through the programme. He was a prayerful person who lived his faith openly, giving love to all he met, so that the night before he died, whilst he lay in a coma, several hundred people spontaneously gathered at the shrine in Carfin in a candlelit prayer vigil.
Joe's father, Alan, describes how there is now a growing devotional following of Joe who has left a lasting legacy.
