A very nice set indeed. If you did the inside entirely, would you do that before or after the outside? Thanks for the video.

I enjoy seeing tubes. Like the metal reactive paint as well. Question: Why are you using the twist drill to drill out the center then coming back with a Fostner bit to enlarge the hole? Doesn’t the Fostner bit use the center point in the wood to start it on line? Thanks for sharing this.

I will have to try that, Sam. I see that Modern Masters also makes the metal reactive paint available on Amazon or Craft Supplies. Intead of one patina aging solution like the Verday that does all, they have a separate one for rust, blue and green. I am still using up my original Verday metal reactive paint.

The process is interesting. It's a shame that the reactive paint is no longer available. The warping produces some interesting shapes. I'm not sure of their function though. If they had not been through drilled I would think they would make interesting vases. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂

Questions Sam, why didn’t you turn them end-grain?
@joepeanut6827

They probably would not Warp as much as they do, being Cross grain.

from my part, just to leave two or three things here,... yes, there are still metal reactive paints on the market,... what are these tubes for,... for contemplation on a shelf in a room or art gallery like any canvas, it has no function, it doesn't have to have it,... lastly, congratulations Sam, firstly for the choice and work, secondly, for the tribute to Raffan,... I love this set of tubes and I love the way they were decorated, the top edge with this canary yellow was a choice as surprising as beautiful in the end,...

Thanks very much. I totally agree. They are useless but very very interesting to look at and so much fun to turn if you can make these go right through the pit they warp quite a bit. This is about the fourth set. I’ve made but thank you very much for your comments. Sam
