Hi Looeelooee, I saw that you had a video about equipment and was wondering if you could give me some advice. I am around 1300 rating in the Netherlands, I think that is about 1700 1800 US rating. In rallies I can open and attack almost all balls quite easily, the only problem I have is when the rallies continues I am not really confident to keep spinning fast and I sometimes try to change to pace and block it slower to try and win by placement. When I am playing against better players this results in my losing initiative and they can take over. I am playing with the Petr Korbel 5 ply wood, tenergy 05 on FH and tenergy 05FX on backhand. I think this setup is a little too heavy, I feel like I have a very heavy petr korbel and I think it's a little heavier because of sweat being retained in the blade. The setup is 200gram. I was wondering if you think it's a good idea to switch to carbon (zlc innerforce layer or something else if you have any recommendations) or if this would be too fast? And I think I might play better with dignics 05 instead of tenergy because I don't like the spin sensitiviy of tenergy and when I tried dignics it was a lot less sensitive. Or should I switch back to slower rubbers like rakza 7 when transitioning to carbon? If you have time to anwser I would very much appreciate it. And thanks for the great videos!

Hey - a lot of this is subjective but I think the blade is 80% important and the rubbers only 20%, so first things first I'd say if the blade is too heavy go for the carbon fiber. The innerforce ZLC is a great blade and its on the slower end of the carbon blades, so you can stay with Tenergy and you'd be perfectly fine. I personally varnish my handle a little (some people hate doing this its just a preference) because it stops sweat from getting into the blade over time and keeps it at a set weight. Hopefully this helps!

@@Looeelooee Thank you for the reply, I have heard the same saying of the 80/20 rule with blades and rubbers elsewhere, but I don't know if I really think it's true. Don't you think that rubbers have a lot more effect than 20%? I feel like even twiddling my blade and playing with tenergy 05 fx on FH instead of BH has an enormous difference, eventhough the rubbers are quite similar. So if I did switch to the zlc blade do you think also switching rubbers would be too many factors changing at the same time? Or do you think I should just try some stuff out and see how it will play out? Sorry for asking so many questions, it is probably really hard to awnser these without knowing what I play like. One more question, is it possible to get a VOD review without being uploaded on the channel? Thanks for the varnish tip I will look into that!

@@modakdid Maybe not exactly 20-80 but the blade absolutely has way more effect than the rubbers do. That's not to say rubbers have no effect because of course they also make a massive difference, just if all else is equal you'll notice more change swapping blades with the same rubbers than swapping rubbers with the same blade. I think swap blades first and keep the rubbers the same so you have a baseline, and then just go from there. The other thing worth mentioning is that equipment in general really isn't that important, I could pick up any decent blade and play at a decent level. Yes it can make a marginal difference but once you've got the weight where you need it to be I'd say to just try and get used to what you're playing with and focus on your mechanics. The VOD reviews are always public which is how I'm able to make them free. I may consider doing paid private VOD reviews in the future but not as of now.

@@Looeelooee Thanks a lot! Yeah you are right that equipment is a lot less important than everybody (including me) makes it out to be. I think right now it is more of a mental thing for me, which sucks, but maybe I should just buy the blade and stick with it and work on my technique and blame nothing but my technique lol. Please send me a message if you are down to do a paid VOD review, I might be interested depending on the price. Last question, when going from training 2 times a week to 7 times a week how can you minimize injuries? again thanks a lot
@Looeelooee

@@modakdid I will let you know if I ever start doing that! And to minimize injury you have to focus on your physical training as much as your play on the table. You need to be really fit / in shape to avoid suddenly over stressing yourself so build up overtime. Also make sure technique is perfect, the better the technique the lower chances of injury especially shoulder and knee injuries
