Hi Robb! I don’t like the imitation crab meat either. I bet the cod fish sticks would be delicious made this way. I just use water to seal the wrappers too. Canola oil is very inflammatory and I don’t use it. I still use my Fry Daddy and it’s lasted for years. The sauce looks good and I would put some chili flakes to give it some zip. Good job Robb, looks delicious. Have a blessed weekend!

Hello willows thanks a lot for watching and commenting what type of oil do you use when you deep fry peanut oil?

I’ve heard bad stuff about canola oil.

I looked into it some time ago and actually the Omega 6 to the omega-3 ratio was not that bad compared to many other oils people cook with but I need to research it more

Hello Dean thanks for letting me know I enjoy making the cooking videos but in the past they have not gotten a lot of fuse so I appreciate it when people take the time to let me know that they enjoy them don't forget I have a playlist but to be honest a lot of my cooking videos are just stuff I put up so in the future if I forgot how I made them I would be able to remember so they don't have very high production values

Robb I think you did a great job on these tunafish sticks that you incredibly turned into crab Rangoon. I think the highlight of this video was the creamy ginger or in sauce for dipping! Original idea for sure.

I love crab rangoon! My fave appetizer to order at a Chinese place. I just saw a video about how imitation crab meat is made. It was disgusting.

Of course I watch this right AFTER putting groceries away from this week's food run. Oh well, wrappers on the list for next week. Not a big seafood eater, but I can think of plenty of substitutions that should work. Think I'll give them a go in the air fryer. Thanks Robb. 👍🏻

Hello John you could absolutely substitute a whole bunch of stuff also these might be healthier if you made them in an air fryer

Excellent idea Robb! My mother used to make faux crab meat out of turbot. I can’t remember how, but I like turbot plenty on its own.I think she simmered it in sugar water and lemon juice. The local Chinese buffet does something like that with cream cheese and onion. I love em’. They could use that sauce though . Thanks for mentioning Cartman. I was painfully resisting the reference. Robb, I found a cheap, battery operated digital oven thermometer called a Hot Loop. It has a sensor on a three foot lead. It looks like something that goes into an outboard control panel. It’s pretty handy and goes well with the little laser gun heat gauge. It works great for hot oils. You have both hands free. About eleven bucks.

Hey tops thanks for the information about the thermometer. I think your mom was pretty smart to be making her own fake crab meat I have been thinking about doing something similar to make a fake lobster I have never had the turbot fish before I think it's pretty expensive now. I'm going to try making more sauces this one was a lot of fun and it only took a few seconds

@@RobbsHomemadeLife Turbot is just a gigantic flounder. I used to catch flounder ,after a rain, around docks and bridges. I love flounder. It’s pretty sweet on its own. I’m sure you could fake lobster or crab with it.
