As an artist, I seriously recommend making sure the glue you use is archival. Regular glue will warp your card art over time, possibly significantly within 5 years. If you want your card art to be safe and last, please, PLEASE consider an archival grade glue.

I know these cards are common as dirt, but that doesn't mean my soul hurts any less seeing them cut up like that. Imagine using a deck entirely made of those 3D displays. Your opponent's expression would be priceless.

I saw someone doing this with an extremely detailed magic card on tiktok and it really made me want to do it! I'm glad this tutorial is here because I'm probably going to go to one of my card shops to buy a bunch of bulk cards and try this out ( I don't have a big stash). Maybe one day I'll do spirit of the breeze! I love that card

As someone who has tried this many times before, I recommend practicing cuts on super cheap extra cards to start, before working on your first project. I used MtG tokens for my practicing, and they are a good place to get a feel for how the blade goes through the cardboard.

Oh god that Luxray Lv X proxy clip is super nostalgic, but to be fair Jumpluff was pretty good back then even with SP around (but especially after the mid-season rotation), so Hoppip actually enjoyed the spotlight for a while. Anyway thanks for the idea. I've been wondering what to do with all these hundreds of worthless PSA 10 1st Edition Base Set Charizards I have laying around. Still hope you and Pooka get back to making some sort of TCG content one day (if you still enjoy it that is), I miss you guys like you wouldn't believe.

I recently got into Ensky paper theaters and sankei craft kits. They're very relaxing and I love that I get to craft some of my favorite anime characters. But the creativity part of it is lacking with a kit, which is why I'm so happy I discovered this video!

So ive been making much less detailed versions of these for many years. Usually just 3-6 layers with no spacers. I came here because i am tired of the little white edges around the cuts from the paper being exposed and i was seriously not disappointed!

Guys! You can also do this with only one pokémon card! Just photo Copy it and use cardboard or foam for the backing! Its a bit harder but it saves you LOTSSS of money and cards.

Be careful on how you hold your ruler when using an xacto knife. Especially where you place your thumb. When I was learning to use one for precision work a long time ago, that was my first (and thankfully only) "major" injury I've gotten during a project. Sliced a bit of the tip of my thumb.
