@irishRocker1 Ha ha I think I might of mentioned that I was "attempting" toy get that tone ha ha ha ha. That was my get out of jail free card. Have you ever played a pedal that came close?

Amazing - I've been looking for a clear plan for this mod recently. Dig it

@@hellosailoreffectsofficial I will - sourcing components is a bit of a ball ache when you only need a few bits. Do you have any recommendations, or maybe there's a little sideline in selling component kits?

@iammoog I use Switch Electronics as they sell some very well my JB caps at reasonable prices in small numbers mate. I should really start selling kits that correlate to the videos. Nice idea mate.

This video was quicker than a nun's first curry, but that pedal sounds beastly. Has me wishing I hadn't sold my old DS1.

@@hellosailoreffectsofficial it's tempting. Maybe I could make up for all the time I spent melting plug sockets shut in electronics class.

Would love to hear it with a proper high-gain setup, i.e. H-S-S/ H-H superstrat --> JCM/octave modded DS1 ----> High Gain Head-----> IR/phsyical cabinet.

@TheLotusEater725 That would be absolutely perfect. I mean, my diy tweed deluxe is a nice amp, but it certainly wasn't up to this task was it ha!

maybe something with a lot of headroom, like a hiwatt, would be better suited to the task

@lilymakesnoise The only other amps I have is a Victory V40 and a Trainwreck Rocket clone I built myself. I really need something with higher headroom for this sort of thing.

@@hellosailoreffectsofficial Those amps are excellent for clean and low-gain crunchy tones in general. If i was a chickin pickin nashville guy i would have a wall of em. Hell, with the right pedal setup you could probably get early Mesa style tones ( i.e. MK1-mk2) from it. For the purposes of high-gain demo vids though, 6505 combos and heads can still be had for sub 1k. It's not that radically different from the coveted 5150 3 circuit, and like rectos and jcm's, it's a common reference point for most of us metal guys. Of course, since it is just a SLO clone, you can get a usable fendery/marshally ( lets be honest, nearly everything, including the legendary plexi and jm45 is a modded fender at some level) kinda clean and crunch tone from it

@@TheLotusEater725 I've always thought I might build something like an SLO 50. Maybe this will give me the kick to do it. Low gain, cleaner tones is where I live really.

Would have been nice to have heard it through a 4x12 or a 2x12. Just sounded really boxy.

I completely agree mate. After my time at TPS running a wet/dry rig with 2 Two Rock heads and 2 4x12 cabs, everything seems boxy.
