Well here it is, 1:30 am 1/1/2024 and I cannot sleep. So there is nothing better than to catch up on some old woodturning videos. And there are none better than yours my friend. I am always looking for something different to turn and your bracelet will do nicely. I even have a suitable piece of zebra wood. I am wishing you a great 2024. Stay safe my friend.🙂🙂

Wow, how good was that? I just love how you think of projects & move so smoothly in to production mode. Your ability to think laterally is amazing & not too many people have that natural ability. I am sure that you wife will 'LOVE IT'. It is always SO satisfying to be able to make 'gifts for family & friends. Well done, again. Don from South Aust.

Loved the video Gord. I hadn't thought of assembling a ring like this. Lots of ideas in my head now. Have you experimented with the "Wedgie " system on some of the more advance ideas Jerry explains in his "Tilt" video? I'd like to see what you could come up with.

A really beautiful bracelet Gord, and very impressive maths as well my friend. I am also impressed with the method you use and will be stealing it!!! As an aside, was that what we call J cloth you were using for the finish application? Great video, as per usual mate. Take care Mike

+Mike Waldt Hi Mike, Thanks for the kind words. As a high school student I hated math and managed to fail the subject twice. Sometime between then and now - and there is a LOT of time between then and now - I became enthralled with math and seem to have a facility for it. If only I'd been as clever as I thought I was in high school. :-) I don't think it's the same thing as a J cloth. We have something called J cloth here as well and what I was using is called shop towel. It's a stronger variety of what we call paper towel. I believe you have a different name for that on your side of the pond as well but I can't remember what it is. Take care, Mike, .....Gord

A good look nice job. I am concerned about gluing end grain. I have been told to put a thin layer of glue on the end grain to seal it and after all ends are dry the assemble the work. What is your opinion ?

Gord - it looks like you've had a little practice making bracelets. I'm sure the wife enjoys each and every one. I've always admired your two camera shots. I'll have to come up with another camera one of these days and give it a try. I currently film everything on my iPhone. Another nice project. Well done! Take care, Steve

+Steve Lindsley Thanks Steve. I use my iPhone for my second camera and often get much better quality than with my "good" camera. The other one seems to drift in and out of focus and I never know it until the work is done and I can't retake the video. Looking at getting another one but they are expensive so it might be awhile. Then I will use my current camera for the second perspective and not wear out the iPhone. Take care, Steve, .....Gord

Very nice Gord but why couldn't you use a bandsaw to round it out? Just wondering.
@GordonRock1
8 жыл бұрын
+Scott Gaber Scott, I try to show options on how to do things. Sometimes I use the bandsaw but I realize that not everyone has a bandsaw. I try to make my videos so that new turners and woodworkers can learn a few things that experienced woodworkers may take for granted. Using the bandsaw for every project would not give the new guys an idea of the options they have. Thanks for watching, Scott, .....Gord
