I use a straight shank 5/8” expanding mandrel for the duck call barrels. I can’t recall where I got it. But, there are several places on the web that carry them.

Yes, indeed! LOL. A sharpened boxed-in wrench makes a great tool for turning tenons.

Turn the lay off and us a draw knife.and a wood rasp .that's how I do it

Thanks, Daniel. I used thin CA glue to fill the void. Can't remember the brand. Probably Stick Fast and their activator.
