#lathe #woodturning #geometric
Welcome back!
I have been wanting to try segmented turning for a while so decided to jump in and have a go.
The whole process of learning to cut angles precisely and repeatedly, was interesting as it takes me along time to learn things these days; #braininjury . I ended up making a table saw jig from mdf that allows me to adjust for future projects.
I also had to make a steady rest as I thought the vase would explode from vibration at some points. I made the jig show on Sean Evelegh's channel which is also where i got the urge to try one of these. I'll put a link to his channel bellow.
I've ALSO learnt that when sanding padauk, the dust stains everything including the maple. I need to work on my turning more to be able to cut out the sanding part. I'll get there one day. I do love using this Record Power Coronet Herald wood turning lathe. I use a SC4 chuck most of the time.
I hope you enjoy the video. If so, give it a like and your subscription would mean a lot.
See you in the next one.
