That BS ticket was a shakedown, dude definitely has a quota, did he even show you a badge? You two were easier than trying to ticket a gang of male youths, closer to his size, jumping turnstiles. What a loser, he probably got a tiny little woody giving you that ticket. Not saying that all Parisians are dicks but my limited experience of the city was that it has a disproportionate number of pricks per capita. 16€ is not much to pay for having a story to tell and a joke. But sure there is an interesting problem and that is a poor reaction from them. On the side note, I am Belgian, discovered you on KZitem and knew you were coming to Paris, but the timing was difficult for international travel to see a standup comedy (I am not like those fan from previous episode that traveled to come and see you). But I checked Paris, and found the location was rather small and multiplying by the price, I could not figure out the business model behind such a tour date. Also, I kind of understood that you would not come to Belgium ever... not sure that was a joke, but I guess Paris would be the only way. It is a bit sad as Brussels is full of international workers (EU, NATO, ...) that have an interest in English content. About not getting the joke, not being a native speaker, I don't get all of them, but that is great, because I discover new joke if I watch it again. So I am a little worried about not getting it LIVE, and not being able to ask you to rewind and repeat. PS: I am not only free riding on your content, I also listened a bit on Spotify and I am reading your book too.

I was in France and was scheduled to meet with my French tutor for our first session at her apartment. 5th floor walk up. I get there and both the buzzer and the intercom aren’t working and I can’t get into the building. She’s not responding to my emails. After 30 minutes of screaming and pounding, someone is leaving the building and I slip in. I make it up to her apartment, disheveled and frustrated. She looks at me and acknowledges that yes, the building entry system is indeed broken. So she knew this, but couldn’t be bothered to let me know or meet me at the door. That’s the French, they just don’t give a shit.
