The guy says 2 million lira is 1700 american dollars. So when Jerry paid the cab driver he paid 75000 lira which is equivalent to $63.77 according to that established exchange rate. So he did get ripped off, Kramer was right. Also in 1995 when this was aired, $63.77 would be the equivalent of $105.46 today. So it would need to be a pretty long ride, but not unheard of, since sometimes unworldly travelers might just take a super long cab ride from the airport instead of taking the time to figure out trains etc.

I love how Louis-Dreyfus subtly has Elaine show irritation at Jerry's questioning of the Maestro over two takes, before she actually tells him to quit asking. Very impressively carried off, IMO.

It's funny how all the kids are always saying that "this clip alone should've won an emmy" This was STANDARD Seinfeld! It was out of this world, yet crappy sitcoms like Frasier always won the emmy.

The scene with Elaine and the Maestro on the window is a reference to the ending of the movie A Room with a View. Both scenes take place in Italy, the characters are sitting in the exact same way and the same music plays :)
