Thank you! Used this as the first step in replacing the T5 lights behind the temp/fan/airflow knobs in my 2011 Fit. Used another video to pull out the cluster shroud (no screws) and the knobs cluster (one Phillips screw). Didn't have to remove the radio wires, just pushed it up out of the way. Thanks again for the clear instructions.

Excellent video. I am the furthest from a car mechanic or whatever you'd call the person who tinkers with the interior of the car, but this video guided me to swapping out my busted 2010 Fit stereo with a new one (same factory stereo model/year), and it only took me an hour of my time and $50 total. Thanks @Diycarmodz

Love the video! After all the clips were disengaged, your video show seemed to take no effort to pull the whole center panel out. No other viewers seemed to have problems pulling the center panel out. But mine had so much resistance at pulling out, I am afraid to tear apart anything. So I stocked there and come to search youtube, but still did not get more info in this regard. Keep searching...

This was so helpful. Thanks :) Also, I didnt have one of those magnetizers but i took a magnet off my fridge and runned the screwdriver on that and that worked to magnetize it. I also didnt have a pry tool and the flat head screwdriver wasnt working but a regular metal spoon worked in like 2 seconds. 👍

Nice video. I have a 2010 honda fit that has damage to the bezel on the head unit itself. Right above the screen for the radio, there is a big chip. Not sure how it happened (previous owner). I'd like to replace it but it seems like I'll have to replace the entire head unit. It's not a big deal because they aren't expensive. I'm just wondering if I'll have issues activating the radio with honda since the new head unit will have a new radio? They're all sold online as complete units. I imagine I could probably take the radio out of my head unit and out of the new head unit and that would prevent that issue (if it's even an issue). Wondering what your recommendation would be.
@DIYCarModz
5 жыл бұрын
You're going to need to get the used radio reprogrammed to matching your vin number for your vehicle. In order to retrieve the radio code the dealership will need 2 things ( you can also retrieve it online through honda owners porta). 1. vin number 2. serial number of the radio. Since you will be replacing your stock on with a used unit Honda will have to reprogram the used unit. What you can do is purchase the used unit and just replace the bezel. The radio unit itself is held on by 4 screws in the back. You can replace just the bezel and still use the same stock radio unit in the back. Or just go aftermarket.
