Nice! I love how this approach makes really detailed trees while staying low poly. I can't help but wonder if there's a trick for the leaves to always face the camera so it would work even when rotating around the tree. Just some thoughts.

Track to constraints on the leaves could work. Or you duplicate the planes in a circular fashion

Very nice as usual, gonna use this alot for landscape without killing my PC. Have you ever thought about expanding on your Ghibli smoke shader? @@KristofDedene google searches are sadly a bit imprecise with this ("anime cloud ring" gets you somewhere else entirely for example) , i can recall scenes from "Castle in the sky" where the guardian shoots his eye laser through smoke, creating a vortex. Somebody else on Reddit seems to have searched for something similar, hopefully this gets the idea across somewhat (www.reddit.com/r/blender/comments/879kir/how_would_you_accomplish_this_smoke_effect/). @@KristofDedene Thanks, I completely understand. Does animating with Blender take up the same amount of time as Drawing? Would you recommend it?
@KristofDedene
3 жыл бұрын
@@papobado9793 I'm not an animator by trade, I started animating my own music video as a hobby and ended up making tutorials about everything I learned. So take my words with a pinch of salt. But my take is that it can significantly speed up the animation process. As far as I can see in the industry most of the 2D animation studios have incorporated 3D in their workflow because of that reason. I'm not that good at 2D animation, so I wanted to see how far I could push my own 3D skills and that resulted in this channel. For me it has allowed me to animate things I probably wouldn't be able to do in 2D because of a lack of time and skill. And in the industry for instance Hideaki Anno's studio Khara have switched to blender for making their 2 latest Evangelion films. So that is a pretty great endorsment.

Hey I love your tutorial but Im having trouble with this one. Even tried you file and have the same problem. Im on blender 2.91 and when I duplicate the object or move around the base object it seems that the generated texture doesnt follow to the new position. It is kinda hard to explain. I have the same problem when I append from your file or with my own build from the tuorial. Maybe there is a chance you can help? EDIT: Nevermind, could solve it on my own, Im stupid. :D
