I did this years ago thinking I was so clever thinking of this technique but truth be known I must have seen it on someone’s site. I just love this idea. Thanks for reminding me about this. Your bags are great.

Oh my! Why have I never thought to sew the seams with the side up that you just sewed to be able to see which way the prior seams went?? haha But actually have not used the grid fusible in awhile. May have to get mine out & make some of these now 😊😊 Great video & great projects! Love, love that last one 💗💗

How long is the zipper? Looks 14” with plenty of room to spare. What size would you recommend? Would a 12” work too?
@thequiltedforest
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, mine are 14" zippers from Terry Atkinson Designs. But a 12" zipper would also work.

It is a very helpful video showing the step by step but disappointing that the inside seams are unfinished. Would be nicer if the lining was made separately in order for the inside to have a nice clean finish.

Do you have to draw the grid? Or does your fusible come with the grid?
@thequiltedforest

The grid is already on the fusible surface. Easy peasy! If you'd like some, or want a kit, just give us a call at 641-585-2438. We do have kits for the Nantucket Mini-Charm Bags on our website at: thequiltedforest.com/other/products/504/Nantucket_Mini_Charm_Bags/

What is the name of the foot you’re using on that machine, please?
@thequiltedforest
Жыл бұрын
Great question! I actually used 4 different feet in this video: 1/4" Foot - for piecing Walking Foot - for machine quilting. It feeds all the layers through at the same time to make it easier to quilt. Open Toe Foot - this helps you see exactly where you're sewing Zipper Foot - as the name suggests, I use this one when sewing zipper's into projects Happy Quilting!

Why waste such a big zipper on such a small project?
@thequiltedforest
Жыл бұрын
The big zipper was less expensive than the small zipper. This particular brand of zippers are priced so that you can cut them down to the size you need.
