Thanks for the tips! I wrote a fork to shell script. It also ask you for you ip number before executing: (save as adb_connect.sh) #!/bin/sh echo "Make sure the device is connected via USB" read -p "Press enter to continue" adb tcpip 5555 printf "What is your device IP-adress -> " read IP echo "Connecting ADB to: $IP" adb connect $IP adb devices echo "All set! Now you can disconnect your device from USB and use ADB via WiFi."

Thanks, Ryan! Very useful tips! BTW, if someone has problems with ADB different server/client versions when trying to "Build and run" from Unity, make sure you're using the same adb version than your Unity (maybe you have more than one adb.exe in your computer). In my case, I had one adb.exe specified on PATH and Unity used its own adb.exe version, that can be found inside: C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\2019.2.12f1\Editor\Data\PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer\SDK\platform-tools (Change 2019.2.12f1 for your Unity editor version) Once I've used that one, all was smooth and perfect! ;)

yes indeed! just to add to your great instructions... I've found that using 'Unity' as the filter key word is perfect for seeing what you would usually in the console.

I was struggling all day trying to get an AR App running and I am used to programming in python or VBA where debugging seemed so easy. I had no idea what was going on in the app when it wasn't working. After banging my head all day I found this. Hah!

Not sure if someone is still following this tutorial in 2020. This is what worked for me: 1. First, because I have several Unity versions installed in my PC, each one with its own Android tool installs, I ran adb in the specific folder of my Unity Version (e.g. C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\2019.3.0f3\Editor\Data\PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer\SDK\platform-tools 2. The monitor.bat spits and error in my case, complaining that lib\monitor-location cannot be found, so I navigated to C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\2019.3.0f3\Editor\Data\PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer\SDK\tools\lib\monitor-x86_64 and ran monitor.exe from there. 3. That didn't work either, complaining that there was no JDK installed, so I added temporarily the JDK to the path by doing "set PATH=%PATH%;C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\2019.3.0f3\Editor\Data\PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer\OpenJDK\jre\bin" and only then I could run monitor.exe [Note that all this was done in the command line]

okay am i the only person on this planet who actually wonders why the hell you need "Wireless" debugging if the first thing you have to do is "connect your phone via USB"? if you can connect it via usb, why using wireless at all? and why is this even neccessary >.> spent hours or researching a solution - nothing... just sayin. great job android
